@expostfactum Just to clarify, when Anglicans recite that we believe in "one, holy, catholic and apostolic church", the use of the word "catholic" means "universal" rather than "Roman Catholic".

Magnificent! Love this setting. Sang it not long ago in Salisbury Cathedral. Superb rendition here, from choir and organ alike

actually there are two solo trumpet stops on the Walker. The first one is the famous en chamade Orchestral Trumpet 8' and the second is a Tuba 8'. The Organist (Richard Lee) uses the latter coupled down - believe me I have played it!

    Excellent work!!
Sadly I've never heard the choir in person. I have been in your cathedral once though, on a day when the sun was streaming in through all that stained glass. Quite a sight.

@churchwhistles Yes it's just a few minutes walk down the road from the Roman Catholic one.

Catholic Cathedral Choirs were very few in England. In answer to Joey boey comments the repertoire of a Choir such as this would have Music written by Composers associated with the Anglican tradition. in my own Diocese of Birmingham the Cathedral Choir sings music from the Anglican repertoire and also have the red style cassocks.

Great! Love it! Just wish they would have held out that last chord longer. The organist held over a bit so maybe he thought so too.

Hmn yes but they are not Tuba magnas ? And I do know the Walker Organ aince it was installed in 1967. I am referring of course to the Tuba Magna which the Anglican Cathedral has .

Expostfactum, invest in a dictionary. Catholic means "universal." Roman Catholic is th church.
