Anchor matters so much this year. Interior helps more with guarding Post Scorers from dropstepping/post spinning you. Both Block and Interior matter to an extent but with the state of the game making Dunks being very VERY hard to block, Anchor matters so much
The problem with Big men complaining about having to step out further from the rim to stop slashers stems from a fundamental misunderstanding of Perimeter D. They don't like to step out cause they can't defend such a wide area because they can't move that fast side to side. These are the guys that took only 30 Perimeter D.
I’ve been experimenting with having an undersized 6’ 7” big and I gotta say it’s pretty insane. Having all of the major big man badges as tier 1 and tier 2 is crazy. Also, I guess I’ll know when you read my messages if you mention it in a video 😂

I’ve noticed that my boy on a 6’9 center gets more blocks and knocks slashers out of animations than another 7’2 we run with. Both max wingspan relative to their heights. The 6’9 has 89 interior defense, 99 block, 86 strength and 93 vert. Not to mention a 80 speed. The 7’2 has a 76 interior defense, 99 block, 75 strength, 70 vert, and 65 speed. I think it all comes down to positioning (beating the the dunker to the paint to get in front of them) and also everything mixed together. Interior, block, strength, vert and speed. The 6’9 does get dogged by interior bigs though so the 7’2 wins in that department. I’m rec/pro-am, I think that it carries more worth to beat a 5-out iso pg team at the paint than a 7’3 center that can get doubled with a smart PF.
To have good defense as a post player u need both interior d and block. Im a defensive anchor and with gold post lockdown and gold anchor im tough to beat inside. Those two attributes go hand in hand
I have two centers and I can say higher interior defense makes you foul less. Block rating makes your contest stronger. For a defensive center I'd say you need at least 93 block and 85+ interior D. And yes you will still get rim run dunks on you, but there will be more misses and broken animations Not talking about strength, 86 at least is a must have

Good point that blocks dnt end the offense's possession n at times it may get u out of position alot n put u at a disadvantage. i never thought of how much of a game changer just going for blocks can be bc ppl literally hunt blocks. i do
on my 7ft post scorer, I only have 85 block and bronze anchor. I put interior D to a 94 and I still get stops all the time. interior d takes up less OVR than block, so I could use those attributes elsewhere. I'll take high interior + post lockdown + brick wall over a high block rating any day
Block. So, I definitely agree with you in this video. So back to my player builder made 7'0 and prioritize blocks with a 93 block for that gold anchor and then went only 80 on Int D 80 vert and wingspan 2 under max. You and my homie are making me reconsider going for HOF Anchor instead of Gold, currently I have Silver Anchor. In good game where I’m playing smart and good defense in the paint 4+ blocks in a game. That is due in part to me being 7’2 90 Interior Defense and 90 Block. But that steep drop in contested situations seems very tempting. My new build was just going to be smaller faster lengthier version of my current build, but I might have to get back in that lab just a little bit longer before I commit to my rebirth.

Hof anchor ain’t that good honestly. Sometimes you can be in good position & still get no body contact at all. Especially those quick drops. Then if they have a high driving dunk they keep calling a foul. It’s trash
Shit doesn't matter.... 99 block isn't stopping a quick drop off one...... Even with a 80 vertical on a 7'1 doesn't mean shit.....and an 89 interior.....

Hey I just made a big man that gets standing contact dunks I was wondering do you need to use the dunk meter with standing dunks too I haven’t upgraded him yet
With a 80 vertical you can run gold if you know about post positionings. I run a 7'1 225 max wing with gold a get 3-5 blocks. And only get bully by a maxed weight center, unless they don't have IQ ..but my interior is at 75. I have had a 15 block game, had 30 rebound games..
Wait until you play comp Pro Am and then make the video again. I have a 6‘9 PF max. wingspan with 93 interior, 99 block, hof chase down and anchor, 80 vertical and strength - people are making up to 50% contested layups on me, no matter if it’s the PG driving or the Center standing. Quick drops are pretty much unblockable with two people jumping in at the perfect time. Maybe it’s a skill thing but it happens to everyone.
If you have no iq and focus, none of it matters, even then you’ll still get boomed on and get giant slayered on regular basis, interior d is just not good this year. Just make a balanced build with one or two great attributes and you’re good basically. Also a tip: do not sit under the basket, automatic dunk/layup, just like real life.
I accidentally made a build with out block but all my other stats are insane and it’s for a paint beast so it’s okay like I still be lock-in down on d just less flashy and badges might be bad but I’m pretty athletic for a big now
Off-ball offense shouldn't lose adrenaline bars in my experience. Getting open without the ball doesn't tire you out nearly as much as handling it, so I think it should work the same in the game. I've had a few possessions in which I missed a wide open shot because, even though I had full stamina, my jumpshot was significantly slower due to having no adrenaline.
imo STRENGTH plays a big factor💯i have 4 big man builds on my 2 dat have 79-85 int def 1 has 50 strength wit gold anchor & 1 has 94 strength wit silver anchor & i have noticed tha hi strength gets WAY more bodyup / kut off animations when i DONT JUMP💯🤔👀
It’s Crazy how current gen defense on 20 and last year current gen was better than next gen defense when it comes to blocks and contesting your hands and chest can be on the ball and they still can make stuff 🤣🤣🤣 they need to buff blocks in inside defense
I have a 70 interior d since I haven’t upgraded attributes, 99 block, and had 9 blocks in first rec game with silver anchor . Block is 100% more important than interior d
The first game you play on a build… most certainly is not the way to judge how things will go. Any time I play on a new build I go demon mode the same night. Next day is a different story. 2k wants you grinding that new build and upgrading it. They give you boosts on a day 1 build

And I can tell ya strength really ain’t high bout 80 or 82?
@@sohood8641 strength is at 70..but box out is gold,,my IQ exceeds the common player
@@blake38100 oh ok that’s even wilder I was thinking bout running a 6’10 build with 76 strength and Hof boxout beast
@@sohood8641 that can work, until you run up against a 7'1 with some IQ..but it's a great height for the park or 3 v3
@@blake38100 true but I look at it as if everyone is gone meet there match 9/10
If you are minimum weight big interior D can compensate it. If you are big and fat - higher anchor is a lot more important.
I accidentally made a build with out block but all my other stats are insane and it’s for a paint beast so it’s okay like I still be lock-in down on d just less flashy and badges might be bad but I’m pretty athletic for a big now
Can you still guard the paint?
@@johnnymaze6350 yes and I still get blocks but it’s kind of annoying in ones if I step up too early it doesn’t really chase block that well
You should do high steal low per def and visa versa
Unrelated: But y’all feel like you should lose boosts for cutting/getting open? I have problems with that more than anything fr
I feel like some blocks shouldn’t be goaltending, it’s a bit worse then other years in my opinion
100%, ill get goaltending on blocking layups / dunks that havent even left their hand yet
im 7.3 with chase hof it goes crazy. hof anchor,
How can i get the goat jersey?
Are you getting blocks with that new lock!?? If you getting it done with 55 vert I need answers lol
Dude on current hof anchor is not good😊
imo STRENGTH plays a big factor💯i have 4 big man builds on my 2 dat have 79-85 int def 1 has 50 strength wit gold anchor & 1 has 94 strength wit silver anchor & i have noticed tha hi strength gets WAY more bodyup / kut off animations when i DONT JUMP💯🤔👀

It’s Crazy how current gen defense on 20 and last year current gen was better than next gen defense when it comes to blocks and contesting your hands and chest can be on the ball and they still can make stuff 🤣🤣🤣 they need to buff blocks in inside defense
Paint intimidation over Stuffed Blocks really?
Anchor is more important, no question. Especially on HOF
Good info brodie
Is 83 int d too low for a 6’11 center?
not if you have hof anchor
what you guys think about menace badge ? For bigs and for guards ... Have it on gold for my big , ... not sure if really helps .. Thanks for answering
Bronze is enough on bigs
I made a big Center with 99 block I get 1 block and now the guy I’m holding sitting in a corner all game.
😅
I feel like block doesn’t matter much just anchor and it matters a lot then interior
That means block matters... how you gone get anchor without block?
@@technolajgplays you didn’t understand his point 🤦🏽♂️
Bro be teaching us!!!!!
BLOCK excellent video bro
I have a 70 interior d since I haven’t upgraded attributes, 99 block, and had 9 blocks in first rec game with silver anchor . Block is 100% more important than interior d
The first game you play on a build… most certainly is not the way to judge how things will go. Any time I play on a new build I go demon mode the same night. Next day is a different story. 2k wants you grinding that new build and upgrading it. They give you boosts on a day 1 build
@@DreadSalient Yeah, this definitely is a thing, have noticed this every year. That first day You are going crazy, than Your back to reality 😎

He literally doesn’t?
And his build as currently upgraded (mentioned in video) is like 50 interior D and 70 block since he’s a 90
