I saw Lord Sutch in the late 80's/early 90's in a London pub with John Wagstaff, friend and leditor of Format the international record collectors magazine. This time no Stars like Richie Blackmore, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Nicky Hopkins, or Carlo Little in his band, but nevertheless the incredible performance of Sutch blew us away🎉. Afterwards we got together talking long into the night. What a great performer! What an interesting chatacter! What a gentleman! 😊 High time his early fantastic singles from 1961 onwards are rediscovered. There was life and Rock'n'Roll in Britain before the Beatles... Thanks for the memories!
Came here because of a Ritchie Blackmore Documentary! I'm totally mesmerized by this guy! Unique stage presence! This dude may be the father of metal! Sure he's the Father of Shock Rock!💯
@@richardhincemon9423 uhmm sometimes not..it was dificult to sell something like captain beefheart's "trout mask replica" tbh. Anyway..you meant that they ignored Screaming lord's music and stage act to take credict on originality? I believe Alice said this yearsss after the 70's (correct me if i'm wrong, i'm not sure)
@@richardhincemon9423 nice, you guys are awesome then...but that wasn't the case for most people with good old beef, even when he tried out commercial music, the guy just failed to make it big. Anyway...your thoughts of Alice ignoring Screaming Lord?
His first 5 or 6 Singles were brilliant!!! His record company unfortunately didn't believe in albums, so you'll have to dig for gold like " Last night I was digging in the cemetery / up sprang a creature wild and hairy" Jeff Beck, Ritchie Blackmore, Jimmy Page, Nicky Hopkins, etc...What a band! Who could ask for more??? Lord Sutch was absolutely mesmerizing before the Beatles🎉
The Heavy Friends record has been called one of the worst ever made because it came out in 69. If it came out in 1977, it would have went gangbusters in London and New York City.
He is not shown in the video Ritchie Blackmore was a Hired Hand back in the day listen for the scraping of the pic and the Flamenco style solo that's him cheers
It’s become very apparent to me that King Diamond is such a fan of Sutch!
Alice Cooper, Marylin Manson, Bruce Dickinson and Dave Vanian too !

I get the impression that he was a great live act but his studio work was inconsistent.

I agree before alice cooper as well
Yeah i think Alice Cooper was mistaken when he said that Frank Zappa was the original shock rocker.

@@richardhincemon9423 yeah i knew that but he really tried out making some money with at least 3 commercial sounding records from what i know.

I saw him perform many times in the past in East London back in the 60's. Great fun.
Awesome!!!!
Forest gate 👍⚒️
Clearly an artist ahead of his time.
No artist is ever ahead of their time. Someone always has to go into unexplored territory first, that's all.

"An evil Christmas to you all."
Discovered this group late last night and am so glad I did
5:11 Quietly Peeing his pants
Hahaha
It's just so delightfully insane
The form of this song came from 'Alley Oop" which was sung in 1960 by the "Hollywood Argyles"
I’m glad someone else spotted the resemblance. It occurred to me immediately.
This is the best thing I've ever seen...........
Paul Nicholas going ‘heh heh heh’ and ‘Jack Zee R-r-rippah’ showed real promise.
What a ripper of a song. Brilliant and the girls loved it.
No me canso de compartir este genio, en todo lugar que puedo. LO AMO!!!
Screamin' Jay Hawkins and this guy is where Arthur Brown, Alice Cooper and KISS came from.
omg im glad to discovered this thanks
Hilarious! And that's before Monty Python's Flying Circus.
And Alice Cooper. Even the string scrapes sound like something from AC's first few albums.
Jerry Sadowitz crossed with lux interior.
A genius
Joe Meek ish
Very cool way ahead of their time
The original King Diamond
A british class act.
😢😱jack l'éventreur ...il a loupé son Casting dans le cinéma ...
Great fun!
This is awesome
Paul Nicholas was his piano player.
Cousin Kevin?

This pretty much inspired The Horrors
Is that Ritchie Blackmore on guitar?
You’re welcome Alice Cooper, King Diamond and Ghost, etc.
Don't forget KISS and Marilyn Manson.

Shock Rock before Alice Cooper
We could do with the Monster Raving Loony Party right now. Oh how much better they would be at running the country.

He is not shown in the video Ritchie Blackmore was a Hired Hand back in the day listen for the scraping of the pic and the Flamenco style solo that's him cheers
Jack looks a little like Quentin Tarantino.
But Marilyn Manson was too much in the 90s 😂
nuts! would be banned today!
…girls scream so
Only Brits get to sing about Jack the Ripper, otherwise it's cultural appropriation. 😎
It was written by Americans and first cut by an American.
Now a days that silly act Will be forbiden, as a matter of fact I don't know how You tube has not banned it.
Shut up snowflake
Alley Oop
