Hues & Shades: A Joyful Collaboration | Berginald Rash with Fiona Gryson | TEDxDunLaoghaire

When musicians of high standing come together, an almost ethereal quality in their collaborative work emerges. This Dathanna Harp and Clarinet Duo is an ensemble forged in friendship, mutual respect and joyful musical collaboration highlighting the timbral beauty, emotive expressiveness, and unique pairing of the harp and clarinet. Fiona Gryson and Berginald Rash are celebrated concert artists both nationally and internationally with a wide repertoire and long history of musical success. Together, they have performed at the Hugh Lane Gallery in Dublin, the Sundays@Noon online concert series, Kaleidoscope Night music series, at the Boyne Music Festival as well as the Tara Summer Festival. This performance draws on Saint-Saëns Clarinet Sonata op. 167 movement Debussy La Fille aux Cheveux de Linat, giving the audience at TEDx Dun Laoghaire in November 2021 time for reflection, to pause and pay silent tribute to artists whose art has kept everyone's spirits high during a most difficult time in all of our lives. Berginald Rash, hailed for his ‘especially stylish’ playing (Guardian), a critically acclaimed Dublin-based American clarinetist, has performed with the RTÉ National Symphony, Virginia Symphony, and Orchestra of the Swan; BBC & Snape Maltings Proms & Gent Music Festival. Collaborations include London Philharmonia, Nashville Symphony, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestras, Frankfurt hr-Sinfonieorchester, Atlanta Symphony & the RTÉ ConTempo Quartet.
