It's safe to say that, even though the general audience isn't as aware of the Godzilla genre, Hollywood production studios, bands, game companies and many more are well aware of our lizard boy.

Well I mean they're actors playing parts. That's their jobs. I just assume that actors don't know much beyond the surface level when they come into a universe. So when they reveal that they know more and are fans themselves, it's that much more engaging.
