  • In an interview with Dr Dan, Ken Bozeman explains that language can be a hindrance to effective vocal expression. He argues that the human vocal apparatus is inherently designed to express emotions for bonding and communication, with language evolving later.
Bozeman highlights that vocal output is often constrained by a narrow speech range, which leads to unrealistic expectations for consistent vowel sounds across different pitches. He suggests that embracing the natural migration of sounds and sensations, rather than trying to maintain a uniform vowel colour, can lead to better vocal performance. Bozeman emphasises the importance of using expression to guide these migrations, resulting in a more balanced and efficient vocal resonance.
