I hope that Doly might be able to roam around the house like Loona. But Doly would need taller treads for carpet. I'd like to see more house roaming robots rather than just being stuck on a desktop. DDL needs to drop that lawsuit on Loona. They're two completely different robots. They're too worried about what the other guy is doing and not concentrating on their own issues. I'm not giving them any more money when it's just going to end up in their lawyers hands instead of developing a better robot. Money poorly spent and poor decision making on their part.
Yes a good house roaming robot at a reasonable price line. So we start on the desktop and develop the heck out of the navigation then super size for the floor of the house. I would love a 2 foot tall EMO roaming my home 😃
The whole Loona situation is so frustrating. Showed a co-worker earlier today pics of Vector and Loona, and they saw no similarities. He even thought the eyes were too different. After that, I told him about what went on, and he picked up the red flag immediately after I said “near the end of the kickstarter, loona got copyright claimed.” I hope this is all sorted out before December rolls around. The whole thing is such a mess. Also yesss RoboBeats! Pumped for them too!
Oh minor thing, what the creator did with Doly is really admirable. Pulling the robot to improve on it? That’s unheard of! I’ll be keeping an eye out on that robot.
Do you have any info or thoughts about the Winky robot? Seems like it is popular in Europe, but not US. Anyone have any thoughts or experience with Winky?
Winky I have not seen one in person. But looks like it has a lot of customizable features few VR games and its own code lab. Saw one on Walmart.com for about $250 but that's for the base robot only. Seems to be geared for ages 5 to 12. It does appear to be a on-off robot so no stand alone personal assistant features.

I love house roaming and obstacle avoidance algorithms
