- Another incredible night at Citizens Bank Park. Rhys Hoskins gets a standing ovation, and eventually takes Zack Wheeler yard, but that was the only positive for the Brewers on Monday night. David Dahl went yard in just his second at-bat of the season, just a few hours after getting called up. Despite the homer to Hoskins, it was another easy night on the mound for Zack Wheeler, and the Phillies hold on for a 3-1 win. Great seeing Rhys back in in Phillie and that was special getting a Homer and we still won! I would have to agree with someone else "he will always be a Phillie to me".
I absolutely believe Wheels would have had 8 innings if not a CG if the ump did his job. His calls, or lack there of, added another 15 to 20 pitches to Wheeler’s PC and caused him to throw some stuff he didn’t want to. Credit to him for maintaining his composure and grinding that one out, probably his hardest earned W this year. Go Phillies!
there are also pitches that they get that should not be it does even out just sucks when it happens

@@fredreichwein2313 - in this game, the pitches on the edge were all balls, no strikes, so the pitchers for both teams didn’t get any of those “make up” calls
Nola would have folded and given up more than a few HRs. Of the I’ll isn’t giving him his calls, he falls apart

Great to see the production from the bottom of the lineup but man the last few games have been brutal for the guys at the top. Feels like they've all gone cold at the same time.

Every game the umpires make about 6 to 7 mistake's. I can see why they are getting rid of them. Half the time they are standing behind the hitter instead of the plate lol

I would have to say that the calling behind the plate was the worst I have seen all year,and it was across the board.That will do a job on pictures ,but Wheeler did a good job.
What makes me like Rhys hoskins even more is the fact that he didn't go to New York Mets he didn't go to Atlanta braves he stood out of the conference that way he can fight against the teams he was meant to fight against

I noticed last series and called a friend about these umps are standing behind batter’s. How can they see outside corners to call strikes and balls. Wrong career if you are afraid to stand behind catcher

There is no way Nola would’ve been able to pitch 110 plus pitches. He makes too much contact. He would’ve gave up at least 6 homers.

It's a long season, and we sorta have a decent top to bottom line-up. It's not perfect, but highly effective

I'm honestly confused why we don't have pitch challenges yet? There is no need to remove umpires. Tennis has been doing this for 30+ years. Just challenge the call show it on the animation screen and be done with it. Give each team 3 with a 4th for 2 successful challenges. Takes 10 to 15 seconds and everyone is happy. Umpires still have a job and horrible calls get overturned . Win win.
They have this currently down in the minor leagues. The catcher can turn to the ump to question a call, the ump will turn up to the booth for a confirmation, and he'll quickly adjust the call if he's wrong.
Three challenges isn’t enough unless the challenge isn’t used up if successful. There was a walk where Wheeler had three pitches called balls that probably were strikes.

Hoskins would be a horrible outfielder. He was terrible at first base too.
The top 4 guys in this lineup are not producing like they were during their hot streak, everyone needs to produce, quit stranding runners and cut down on strikeouts.
