This song will always be phenomenal to me. It’s even crazier listening to Conor sing these amazing lyrics so viciously when you know that he’s literally a little ball of human sunshine lmao. In fact, he just put out his first solo EP. It’s called Man-made-sunshine and it’s beautiful. But please continue the NBT reactions! They have so many incredible songs that cover so many genres. Just the best band ever.

This is an intense track(right up there with “is this the end” from the same album). When I first heard it, I just sat there while Conor screamed at me 😂
Full album reactions please! The tracks you’ve listened to so far are from their 2020 album “Moral Panic”. Their 2017 album “Broken Machine” and self titled 2015 album are masterpieces as well.
I also highly recommend checking out the live session of “Lover Please Stay” to really hear Conor Mason’s vocal ability.
Second this!!! My dad wasn't really feeling their music until he heard that version now he's a fan :)

Each of their songs is different. You can't put them into one genre. They've got a lot of songs out. All of them are worth listening. Not a single skip. And we don't even have to talk about Conor's absolutely outstanding vocals. One of my fav bands.

One of the most powerful tracks on the album, glad you liked it and paid attention to the lyrics. Every song in this record (and the previous ones) is brilliant but I think you're gonna like 'Phobia' and 'Unperson' a lot. This band has it all: powerful lyrics, incredible instrumentals, a great vocalist and the production is out of this world. As you've said, they're very versatile and draw inspiration from all sorts of genres and artists but they still have a strong identity that makes them unique. Keep these reactions coming!

Love them so much! And Conor is such an amazing human being, so shy and humble. You would not believe that these vocals belong to this small guy. That's what makes it even better for me, the kind of underdog feeling you get when you see him walk on stage and then he just blasts his great wonderful vocals in your face 🙂

Loved your reaction. Lifting the lid on NBT for the first time is like discovering a brand new musical landscape. I have seen them live twice now and they are a phenomenon. You have heard a few tracks from the Moral Panic album and one from the Moral Panic II E.P. I would love to see you react to the rest of the E.P. I think it will blow your mind.

Hey Steven, hope to see your react to Brakence. He's an incredible and very unique artist who just released his new album Hypochondriac. To me it's a masterpiece. It's probably a different genre of music than you're used to, but I feel like you would really appreciate it. I would recommend starting with Intellectual Greed as I think it's more up your alley and then you can pick whatever song from there, he's got so many bangers. I'm convinced you'd love it!

This song makes me wanna scream- it's so good! Has a definite Twenty One Pilots sound which I LOVE
It's an incredible misread to think this song is calling out both sides of the political spectrum equally, or at all. It's calling out, specificallly, american Trumpist conservatism and it's hypocrisy and then, relatedly but more generally, calling out the LGBT+ community's trend toward throwing their own under the bus due to internal identity and respectability politics (likely referring to ppl like the 'Gays for Trump' crowd, but also gatekeepers and transphobes etc), and how that plays into the Trumpist/conservative queerphobic agenda. It's actually a really specific song, but the nuance is easy to miss if you're not part of the community it's aimed at. And also if you're a Trumpist, who seem to actively resist concepts like nuance (also logic, context, common sense, compassion, emotional regulation etc) but would probably throw a tantrum about the MAGA hat reference without ever understanding the rest of the song.
"Because your mother told you you'd win when you were young" references the trophy for all generation, which is followed up by this burn on Liberals: "But now the liberals aren't liberal, they're just as venomous
And you can't have an opinion unless you're one of us
No second chances, you're branded, your kind are dangerous
We're bringing each other down
We're tearing each other down"
It burns both sides, but I noticed you left that part out.
