Welcome to New Orleans, or as I call it, The Dirty Las Vegas. I live in Las Vegas but go to NO almost every year. I agree with you about the smell on Bourbon Street and the shady characters that frequent that area.
I thought it comical that your first breakfast in NO was at an IHOP :). So many great places to eat breakfast. Sorry about your room situation. You really have to do your homework which you said you did.
The French Market is a fun area but not the best food choices. There is a stall with alligator on a stick which is REALLY good, but for good alligator you need to go to a restaurant. I am pleased you enjoyed The Gumbo Shop. I personally know the General Manager and eat there a lot. The Vampire Cafe is a nifty place. As for coffee, you should go to CJ's coffee.
If you read this and still are in NO, go to Johnny"s for some great po boys. Oceana and Mamba's are good restaurants, but there are MANY good places to eat. Do a Free Tours by Foot tour of The French Quarter or take a Mississippi cruise. Stay safe and enjoy life.

Yeah we went to IHOP as I’ve never been to one lol and it was near our hotel🎉 I have a couple more NO videos coming out and we ate so much amazing food😍 In my next vlog we did go to Oceana! We tried to stay in the one area and not travel too far out (I did find loads of amazing food places further away) but because we were only there for 2 days we didn’t want the hassle x The food was my all time favourite thing there and I think about it often🤣 x

What it smells sewage in the streeets or just the hotel?
New orleans has been on my bucket list ever since I saw Tpatf. Fun to see how your trip was
Everywhere smelt of sewage x the streets were very dirty x Make sure you go with someone as it’s very unsafe as well x the food is amazing 😍💕

@@thelibrarianofalexandria6200 yeah I definitely couldn’t deal with the smell lol😂 it wasn’t what I dreamed of x yes that is my fav Disney movie! And I’m a big jazz fan x even people in New Orleans were like why did you come here?😂💕
Honestly you probably didn’t go to a good area my experience was the the opposite although the only smells might be on bourbon st, its not as unsafe as you are describing it the locals are very nice and welcoming and treat you like family, i stayed for a week and will definitely be returning wished i stayed longer 💯
@@thelibrarianofalexandria6200i definitely think you should go and maybe do some research,go at a good time of year where there isnt alot of tourists , you’ll experience it at it’s fine also watch a few videos but everyone should have their own experience over there
