    Clearly the 2nd time was the charm!
    Loved that first flight with the forward hatch/windscreen in an upright configuration. So goofy!!

    Ive got the Eflite Valiant 1.3m and Absoulty love that Bird. I'm thinkin that this is gonna be my first Arf gas kit. Looks like she needs bigger wheels like the Eflite Valiant does. I added the wheels from the Timber to my Valiant and she handles alot better on the ground with them. Great video and cant wait to get this Bird.

    MORE POWER!
    My Valiant 10cc is electric powered - Motor: LD4248 600kv (ex Avios Extra), ESC: 80A E-Flite 2-6S EFLA080EC5, Battery: 6S 3300mah 60-120C Turnigy HD, Propeller: APC 14x8
    MOTM: 3375g Thrust: 3900g Thrust/Mass: 1.16
    On grass the tail come up after a couple of metres, at 8m the front wheels are airborne, then apply full power and pull back the Valiant rockets vertically upwards in an unlimited climb.
    Oh, and with 125% increase in max surface deflection, the gentle gracefully smooth character of the Valiant comes alive with much enhanced sports aerobatic agility. The only aerobatic manoeuvre that is tricky to execute cleanly is a full outside loop. Oh, and it flies for at least 10 minutes on 6s 3300mah batteries.
    The smooth predictable flying characteristics make the valiant a brilliant FPV and HD camera platform: checkout my Valiant Videos.
    The Vaillant 10cc is a very accomplished plane.

    It may be a small plane to you but to me it would be my largest! Kaos 60 holds that distinction now. I have the Eflite 1300 Valiant and love it. Thinking about getting this version thou I would use electric power ( I have several suitable motors for it).

      Eyes going bad I read "I have several suitable motors for it" as (I have several suicide motors for it).
      lol

    I just got one of these totally gratis from a fellow flyer that's downsizing to smaller planes. Planning on using my 46AX on it instead. I can get 7lbs static thrust off that engine so it should have plenty of punch, and I fly off a paved runway besides. Touch-o-flaps, belt that OS wide open, and she should lift off nice and scale!

    Hi there, I love all your RC Plane videos. You explain and describe everything so well and that's what makes them so interesting. I also like your honesty. Well done and keep up the good work.

    Nice vid Tom, Thanks!!!! Have you considered making a video about the NGH 9cc exclusively? It would be nice, and really appreciate it! Thanks!

      A more focused story on the 9cc NGH is in the works. I have to pay the bills for all this so am working to make Protector Sets when we can;t get to the field which has been not often of late with a bunch of rain on flying days. Stay tuned, it will show up eventually!

    I’m a Neanderthal, so I would equip it with a 60-80 4 cycle glow. I’m just not sure that I really want such a plane.

    What size prop you running on the ngh 9cc also what is you idle rpm and high rpm how did you ajust idle. Im running it on a kadet senior

    • @flyingrcdotnet
      @flyingrcdotnet  4 роки тому

      Its been a long time since I had that plane but I know I used a prop size according to the instructions.There is little to be gained by trying props outside of the manufacturers range, especially on a high wing plane like the Valiant. Also, tuning was (and always is) done according to the instructions also.

    Looks like a good first gasser after I get some time in with the e flite valiant. Do they fly similarly or does the jump from foam to balsa change the behavior a lot?

    • @flyingrcdotnet
      @flyingrcdotnet  6 років тому

      All of the Valiants fly very much alike. The only differences relate to the overall size and weight and how that works in the air. All are very manageable.

    How much flight time would you get from 1 gallons of fuel

    • @aquaticthumb5193
      @aquaticthumb5193 Рік тому

      20cc a minute about 225 minutes at near full throttle.

    looks like it was never gonna get of the ground, is under powered or under propped?

    • @flyingrcdotnet
      @flyingrcdotnet  6 років тому

      If you watch the whole video yo see that as soon as the grass dried a bit power was not an issue. All flights except the first one were fine and we didn't change the motor or prop after the first flight.

    • @jhue73
      @jhue73 6 років тому

      maybe its just the video but it still looked like it took alot of runway to get off the ground. my great planes cherokee would take alot longer to get off the ground with an 11" prop then i changed it to a 12" prop and it got off the ground much quicker of course it also is electric.

      Near the end of the video I nose it up on takeoff and do a roll, all with plenty of engine. Keep in mind this is a 9cc high wing plane. I've got plenty of planes I can jerk off the ground and go vertical with, this one flies nice and makes a great trainer for someone wanting to learn how to use rudder and be smoother on the sticks. Most people that see it fly are shocked to find out about the 9cc engine.

    • @jhue73
      @jhue73 6 років тому

      it must be just how it looks on video im sure in person it looks alot different. i am glad you got it back together. when you were flying real slow and low with the flaps on again i cringed i was anticipating a wing drop again, im so glad it didnt.

    Saito 82b works much better on this plane, mine has great power with the VP 20/20 nitro mix.With the 82 4 stroke the 10cc Valiant takes off in less than 20 feet!

  • @DylanDyck

    Would you put a saito .72 into this plane?

    • @flyingrcdotnet
      @flyingrcdotnet  6 років тому +1

      I've not had any experience with that engine so really have no idea if it would work or not. I now we are supposed to act all-knowing on the Internet but I'd rather not guess and point you in the wrong direction.

    What type of 2 cycle oil do you use and where do you get it?

    • @flyingrcdotnet
      @flyingrcdotnet  6 років тому

      Redline synthetic racing oil and youj can get it all over. Google it to find an outlet near you or on line. I usually buy it by the 12-bottle case just prevent having to re-order too often.,
