I work for NYCHA actually as an Exterminator. That was me & my team who killed the Rats in Bushwick Pjays, we was on the News bout 2-3 years ago with DeBlasio & the Dry Ice program. Yes some Tenants can do better, but honestly there are many Tenants who actually try to do the right thing. The real break down comes from the Plantation Owners who run NYCHA into the ground. There is sooo much Corruption going on in NYCHA, you really have no idea (just look up the NYCHA scandal in Throggs Neck for one example). So I’m NEVER Surprised to hear about what goes on in NYCHA, I’m just still Surprised people don’t act like they know how this game is played.
I have seen people throwing garbage outside the windows, leaving garbage in the hallways, peeing, releasing them self, damaging property, there’s no recycling in these projects
there's recycling receptacles but the maintenance workers don't empty them. they also dont repair the broken locks for the main lobby doors so homeless ppl enter the buildings to poss and defecate.

That’s my old neighborhood where I lived with my late mom we lived in building 510 quincy st when they did renovations I use to see them in the hallway sometimes and they got in some neighbors apts and ran them out of their own apt nycha really needs to do something to help these tenants asap !

When I was a kid in NYC, I remember that there were A LOT of alley cats throughout the city's housing complexes. Some got huge on the amount of rats they chomped on! So is the cat population down today? Some of those cats were tough and nothing to play with!

I think they should empty out all NYCHA buildings in NYC & start all over! Rebuild, get new law abiding residents, bring back residents who are in good standards, ban the bad ones & as much as a dislike gentrification, keep these neighborhoods for minorities! Charge more for rent & add 24/7 security! Also have a zero tolerance policy where any major crime you commit, gets you banned from NYCHA.

Everyone has a phobia, my is mice and rats. This is terrible. I had to break my first lease in a nice townhouse due to hidden bug problem and that was awful itself. I saw one mouse and froze on my couch until my bf put traps down. Can't imagine how they feel, just awful.🤮

Plz come to181 on jerome Avenue in the bronx ....you have rats as big as Yorkie Maltese, raccoons, trash everywhere, noise pollution music played all hours at night,people breaking into mail boxes ,people defecate on the roof top, sleeping on stair cases building is filthy ,people riding motor bike on side walks ....The bronx is like a zoo ... it reminds me of the 80s in a bad way ...
