  • Is there a Correlation between ANXIETY and SIN?
This context of this video is the consumption of sinful entertainment. It is specific to anxiety caused by spiritual illness and it is not a general view on anxiety. If you suffer from psychological anxiety, always seek the advice of a physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition or a mental health condition. This video does not imply that anyone suffering from Anxiety is living a sinful life. The Coptic Orthodox Church full endorses and supports seeking mental health treatment and encourages everyone suffering from mental health challenges to seek medical advice and treatment.

I have suffered from anxiety for several years now, I can say that it has manifested over years and years of being 'lost' with no real purpose. I am a migraineur which has made life so hard. In recent times, my anxiety increases when I watch the news - the sexualisation of children in schools etc. I have no clear idea about sin and anxiety going together... I would say on one hand yes, even the sins of others but on the other hand, anxiety can arise for many others reasons.
There is ONE THING that I can confirm... God has taken my anxiety through prayer and just being with him in whichever form- bible study, church, online such as this !
If one sins and becomes anxious, that person must have some degree of guilt over the sin. Just pray and hold faith. x

Is there a correlation between ease of life and sin? Saint Isaac the Syrian talks about it. Curious if COA has a take on how it plays out in our North American context.
Thank you Abounas, Paul, and COA! 🙏✝️

    Hello!
Anxiety is not our enemy. It's a protection mechanism. Therefore, anxiety is not a problem. However, anxiety disorders are problems.

Father i don't know this is the correct place to ask this question.i I think the core idea of the Christian faith is the testimony of st peter on the resurrection of Jesus narrated in Book of acts.but there is no existing Full copy of acts before 4 th century.so how we know the Book of acts now in our hands is the same written by the author? Kindly waiting for your reply❤

Awesome question! The answer is actually fairly simple. The way you verify an ancient document’s reliability is by comparing it to all the other versions of the manuscripts and seeing where they lineup. That way, you can quickly notice where they don’t. For example, let’s say each manuscript of Acts that we have is 10% different from the original copy Luke wrote down. But, we have thousands of ancient manuscripts. All you have to do, is compare those manuscripts, and you’ll see where they all overlap. The ones that differ from the majority (on a verse/word) are the outliers, leaving you with a comprehensive compilation of evidence for what the original text said.
      Hope this helps, brother! 🙏✝️

@@mwhabs in original acts, does it have the testimony of st peter about the ressurrection of lord Jesus 🙏

@@shahidnishalu Absolutely! With thousands of ancient manuscripts, and based on how the Bible we have is put together by comparing them all, you can be certain that what you have in your hands is what Saint Luke wrote with his. 🤓
There’s even the Dead Sea Scrolls Bible where you can see that even the Old Testament remains completely unchanged, and that what we have today, is what existed before Christ 🙏

Could you please explain the difference between small and big sins?

    • @BrentHurst13

I think the point he's making is that, while we humans have a tendency to differentiate between big sins and small sins, God sees no difference. In other words, we need to stop having the attitude of "avoid big sins, but small sins are ok" and start having the attitude of "my sin separates me from God (Isaiah 59:2), so I need to put that sin to death (Colossians 3:1-17), no matter whether I perceive the sin as 'greater' or 'lesser' than any other sin." May we all make every effort to live holy lives to God (I Peter 1:14-16). Grace and peace.

In our eyes we might separate by saying this sin is big, this sin is small. But in the eyes of God sin is sin. "Sin is a separation from God, but its way more extreme than that. It is a rejection of God's Fatherhood, its a rejection of God's friendship, its rejection of God's Love, not only rejection but denial of all these things." So in the eyes of there is no smaller or greater sin. But God is merciful and sees our intention and our heart, but that doesn't mean we should continue sinning. (The above quoting is from a sermon 'Finding God's heart' it's on the channel SPOT church. I highly recommend for u to check it out)
