The last prophet hazrat Muhammad s.a.w mentioned it over 1400 years ago ,meaning, that near the end times of the world these shepherds of arab deserts will compete each other in building towers much taller than mountains.
“The Hour will not be established-till the people of the desert (the camel shepherds) compete with one another in constructing high buildings.” Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) on the minor signs of the last day. On being asked on the signs of the last day, the Prophet (peace be upon him) mentions: “you shall see the barefoot, naked, penniless shepherds competing in constructing high buildings.” This hadith describes people who become rich all of a sudden and then build not for need but only in competition. How did the Prophet know this 1500 yrs ago. Take care brothers and sisters. Last days will come faster than we expect.
Alano Morito There will also be the coming of Imam Mahdhi and it is also described that there will be a conflict between Israel and Palestine which I think is happening now.
The rest of the world: Dying of starvation and poverty. Dubai: Cowabunga it is To the dozens of my angry Arabic friends in the comment section, it's a joke. It was not meant to offend.
I would like to see a follow up video that discusses the engineering for this tower. I would find it particularly interesting how the tensioned cable stays are regulated for the dynamic extremes of expansion and contraction/winds on the tower unit itself. The weight of those cables must be quite high too and it would be interesting to understand the stresses that places upon the structure itself. Weight, plus expansion and contraction are a formidable obstacle on a 4200 foot high structure I would guess, not to forget about the compressive forces of the tower itself through its footings. Quite a remarkable achievement if carried out to fruition and it will rewrite some textbooks as well.
If you'd ever think your job is useless, remember there's an international committee which whole purpose is to decide what building can be considered as skyscraper.
The rich are rich, the poor are poor. It has been the same ever since the concept of money consumed the human race. If you think we will get to a point in which the rich will give away their money to the poor so that we all live equally, you're delusional.
1400s years ago, it's already stated in hadiths (words of Prophet Muhammad, PEACE BE UPON HIM) that the barefoot Arab poor tribes would compete each other in building tallest buildings in the world, they are now between the Saudis and the gulf sheikhdom countries.

I would prefer a building that is better rather than just taller. I don't care for this project. I believe innovate upper floor observation and outdoor recreational spaces built into more reasonable buildings would be more impressive. The reason it would be better is because the building will provide an emphasis on things to do and places to explore rather than just having the winning stats on paper as being the tallest in a pissing contest. Of course this building will be impressive and of course it will attract people but when you visit the top of this tower you can eat and drink and then stare out for a few mins but then what? For the same money you could create an adventurous maze of beautiful yet sky high spaces for people to explore, shop, dine and truly enjoy for hours and return to again and again. Would I still like to visit this when it is completed? Yes and I would be impressed, for sure. But enough with being tall unless there is something more to offer up there.
To be honest, while I agree that buildings that use the height to an advantage are better, I think that buildings that are tall for being tall are beneficial in the long run. By using humanities natural urge for being better then peers and exploration, creating structures like this force us to innovate and expand our knowledge which can help us all out. A very good example of this in practice is the Apollo program. We sent a gigantic rocket, with men in it, on the moon, 70 percent of the drive being "Because we want to be better then the commies" however it changed the way we look at space technology, astronaut safety, and the origins of the moon and the past history of our solar system. TLDR: Egocentric drive creates beneficial innovation.
Dubai builds these extra tall buildings because they are a desert. Tall skyscrapers and towers are so beneficial because they bring precipitation to the country
There is actually. Dubai mall is just few metres away and dubai is not that dumb they will surely build a mall of somethings extraordinary well we have to just wait and watch what they do. I'm sure it will be very impressive
Gabriel Ibarra It’s called the “Urban heat island effect”. Pretty complicated but Google should explain. I can’t elaborate without getting stuck on words.
More like: Dubai: "500 meters! Wait, 600 meters! No, 700 meters! 800 meters! 1000 meters! Come one, come all, see the 1000 meter tower!" Rest of the world: "So, Dubai, when are you going to build that tower? There's nothing but sand at the site at the moment." Dubai: "It will open by the end of next year! It will cost a billion dollars to build, house 5000 apartments, be accessible by helicopter and hyperloop, and plated with gold!!" Rest of the world: "So, Dubai, how are you going to *pay* for that tower?" Dubai: "Funny you should mention that: I have an interesting investment opportunity for you!" Long story short, none of the 10 tallest towers proposed in Dubai since the Financial Crisis have come to fruition. Neither will this one.
Dubai is a green place especially if you take into consideration the natural ecosystem of Dubai ( it being dry and hot) and the amount of plants and tree that has been planted is amazing and it also having the world largest solar panels farm make it a very green environment.
Dubai doesn’t need more buildings, it needs fewer. There are thousands of empty properties and the property market is in decline, building this edifice will only make it worse.
@Best Commentseva the country is built on a false economy, slave labor from the east and over paid westerners. The cost off amenities was paid by the govt but now they are trying to tax.
@Best Commentseva what the hell are you on about? You haven't got clue as to the employment system in Dubai (and Saudi Arabia), South Asian workers are bought in by Arab companies and then have their passports seized and their contracts reduced - forcing them in to indentured servitude.
Tim Nolan sooo the US and the Empire State Building? UK and the Big Ben? Those are some pretty impressive buildings but both belong to current global powerhouses.
And how many a city did We destroy while it was committing wrong - so it is [now] fallen into ruin - and [how many] an abandoned well and [how many] a lofty palace? So have they not traveled through the earth and have hearts by which to reason and ears by which to hear?

" and he(Jesus) drank and ate"
Similarly he made a prophecy regarding the coming of Muhammad PBUH.
"I am the alpha and the omega"(again a contradiction to previous versus
" My father is greater than I( here father means Gods all the prophets can be called sons of God spiritually but nothing biologically). Also Mary/ Maryam was Aramaic who was hanafi that is she was a monotheist.

Dubai: Yes
More like:
Dubai: "500 meters! Wait, 600 meters! No, 700 meters! 800 meters! 1000 meters! Come one, come all, see the 1000 meter tower!"
Rest of the world: "So, Dubai, when are you going to build that tower? There's nothing but sand at the site at the moment."
Dubai: "It will open by the end of next year! It will cost a billion dollars to build, house 5000 apartments, be accessible by helicopter and hyperloop, and plated with gold!!"
Rest of the world: "So, Dubai, how are you going to *pay* for that tower?"
Dubai: "Funny you should mention that: I have an interesting investment opportunity for you!"
Long story short, none of the 10 tallest towers proposed in Dubai since the Financial Crisis have come to fruition. Neither will this one.
