I am using quickbooks pro 2020. I was using quickbooks for my payroll. I have now switched to a 3rd party. Quickbooks is not giving me the option to switch to manual payroll. what do I do?
Thanks for the reply. Intuit customer service helped me get it straightened out. The problem had to do with the payroll service leaving a service key on the file (Employees>Payroll Service Options>). Once I cleared that key, then the manual payroll option came back on.
Hector - Love your videos - very clear, concise and helpful. I have one question you may not have encountered on this topic: I have Desktop Pro 2022. Until recently, I was subscribed to the basic QB payroll package, but have since canceled it. Now that my payroll service is canceled, the "Manual Payroll" button under "Full Payroll" in Preferences is visible, but not selectable. I can activate manual payroll per your instructions on any subsequent dummy company files I create, but it seems to be disabled on the company file that formerly utilized the payroll service. Any thoughts?

I can do my own calculations but have a need to have the paycheck info in the QB software. One question, just want to make sure that if I turn on Manual Payroll in one company that it will not affect the subscription for the company that has A payroll subscription. I only updated to QB 3020 because it would not Intuit would not support QB 2017 any longer fir payroll

I'm currently having an issue with sending payroll stubs via email. There is a popup and tells me the password isn't correct with my email address when I know that the password is correct. I updated Microsoft Office, but I haven't updated my QB Pro 2016. I'm not sure what the issue is, but can you help me figure out what I need to do in order to have the capability AGAIN to send payroll stubs to the employees?

You need to create a payroll item that points to the Employee Loan account for the pay back. And to lend money, you can write checks to that loan accounts
Where is this in 2021 online version? I’ve done it manually for over 10+ years and now I’m being forced to pay a monthly fee for a simple payroll for 3 employees? Entering timely journal entries is the only way around this? Come on! It’s been an option FOREVER! It’s awfully sneaky of Intuit to do this. I’ll gladly pay for services I NEED, but being forced to use the monthly paid payroll is not cool.
