I helped 2 moths to escort crab call spirit. Honked a ton of crabs, got bonked by another lot of stronger crabs, krilled once, just being a bait so they can escort the spirit safely. Was a tough job but the happy honks and kisses after they got the spirit is the sweetest thing ever. 10/10 will do it again.
Yoooowww I always do that but the real challenge for us is when TGC finally brings the update to live where the tricks are not working anymore. But I already practiced Krill dodging for that moment.
Same! I’ve helped a lot of moths get through carrying the guitar spirit, crab call, and others by using props to cover us whenever a krill spots them or gets too close. It’s always really wholesome even if it is stressful in the moment because of all the flying danger noodles everywhere
The flying spirit for the manta call was literally my biggest enemy. I couldn't find anyone to help me with it and I would always run out of time. My flying skills got so good because I was practicing so much and I finally got it
Story time! I was a sanc moth and grouching spirit was the most stressful spirit I've had to deal with. Imagine a week-old moth who only had 6 wings with no friends climb that monstrosity of a reliving spirit. The number of times I waited for the light to *slowly* recharge me and retry that mountain area 10+ times, and even managed to lose the spirit once because I ran out of time, only to lose the account 3 days later and start over from scratch. *Pain.*
yeah same lmaoooooo, there was no torch no potion no friends not a single thing that could help recharging my light other than the spirit itself, literally just pure hell, i finally got it at the last days of the season tho also this might be because of the amout of wings i have now but i tried to relieve it again bc i forgot how hard it was, like "was it that hard lmao" then i relieved it on first try after almost a year

Those from wasteland are definitely the hardest. Until now, I still haven't gotten the pleaful parent because of 1) carry 2) long distance 3) crabs and 4) so many krills...it should be on top tbh 🥺

Hardest to relive if you're by yourself, sure. But I think the hardest one ever was the levitate emote back in the early days. There was no way to get it without knowing prayer, so first you needed four people to get into the telekinesis room and use that emote to get into the prayer room. Finally after enough cooperation from other players you could try to get the levitate guy. Starting him off was fine. You didn't need pray to start it like you do now. Prayer is what finished the emote, and boy was that a pain. One thing you have to know about Vault waaay back then is that the elevator would take off without you. If one impatient fool sat on the platform the whole floor would go up, whether you were ready or not. Not only was there that time crunch, but you also needed FOUR players that knew pray. And if that wasn't bad enough, it had to be four players who DIDN'T have the levitate emote yet. A poor moth would be standing there begging for help without understanding that the people there literally couldn't help. 😭😭😭 The chair prop was almost ultimate gift status rarity.
Ooooh, that’s a tough call between Pleaful Parent and Hiking Grouch. Personally, I absolutely *despise* the Pleaful Parent (it was also my very first t.s around December 2020!) quest, absolutely brutal 😩
Fun story about the shushing light spirit: I was trying to relive it together with another player. We worked really well together as we carefully guided it through the platforms. However when we were about 75% through other players started to join in and it got chaotic until the light slipped through our hands and fell down to the bottom. Needless to say me and that other player spammed the call button in rage. We were able to relive the spirit the second attempt.
Before the home trick got fixed, I’ve gotten Pleaful Parent in my first attempt with my two friends. The spirit is easier if only you brought many friends to be bait, but since the home trick is gone, it would be tricky.
Without krill glitch, the only way this would work without losing light is to have a sacrifice like OP, or have friends with you. You carry the light while a friend watches from a safe distance, and if you get seen lure away the krill and hide before it hits while your friend should take over the carry.
Am I the only one who couldn't do the ice race spirit? I had to get someone to hold my hand and do the race for me after like 100000 tries. 😭 I still haven't got the one in vault because after the fourth time the light fell down into the infinite void below I rage quit and can't bring myself to try again. The last time I was nearly at the end, I had one more to go and I flew a bit too excitedly and the light escaped me and went down between the stones. The fury.
Felt that :') I failed a bunch of times before finally getting it I find that the best way is to do it together with someone, that way you take turns jumping and if you lose the light it will latch onto the other person and not fall into the void (that is unless you both jump at the same time cause of impatience :')) I always try to help if i see someone attempting to get it
shush spirit was the second travelling spirit i met when i was a moth, i had no idea that it was a ts tho and i relieved it just easy no struggle and now ive been playing sky for 10+ months and mastered every sky things including controls, and now i have a beta account, which doesnt have the spirit yet so i went to relieve it but it does take me so much time and tries??????? why does the moth me always does better
I feel like some of the spirits really aren't meant to be done alone hahaha. Especially the wasteland ones just gotta have someone distract the krills and crabs
I never realized that being a moth in sanctuary and reliving grandpa grouch with four flaps is hell of a nightmare. To be fair, i didn't realize a lot back then
One of the hardest base game spirits from my moth days was the manta call. Of course the vault ones that required 4 players or/and other emotes were annoying to, but once i started the spirit memory, the manta call was the hardest to finish
Is this one from Valley's citadel? Yes, it was a PAIN! I couldn't do it on my own... too many fragments flying everywhere all around the screen and too little time. Very hard indeed. Now it is just one fragment at a time, so it is really easier.
The umbrella spirit is hard to relive if ur doing it with randoms who don't know how the spirit works We took a whole 4 tries with my group because a bunch of randoms didnt know that we needed to give the spirit time to recover from the rain smh
i got hiking grouch when there was this bug in sanctuary islands where all the cores of the spirits were concentrated in the same area as the spirit guide for some reason. i had to walk/fly HALFWAY AROUND THE ISLAND just to get to the first spirit marker good news is i did it first try :’D, never reliving that spirit again

THE HIKING GROUCH GAVE ME ACTUAL NIGHTMARES PLS All spirit in GW (i became a resident meat shield for ppl there coz I like doing them) and the one carry spirit in Vault was very easy for me. But the grouch? F- yeah mad props for that guy.
I dreaded the Pleadful Parent spirit for a while before deciding I was going to fill that emote spot, even if I lose a few winged lights. Luckily, another player was doing the spirit and had guided me along, they had the krill pathway down. I only got krilled once cause I couldn't tell where it was coming from (although it should have been obvious) and I was seeing if a glitched worked for the switch (it didn't). We only got spotted towards the end, but they ran to the next hiding spot, taking the krill's eyes off me long enough to get close enough to the spot so when I was spotted I had enough time to hide and not lose the spirit. I get why the Hiking Grouch Guy is bad, I hated reliving it for a quest, and it has earned its spot on this list, but I will forever argue the Pleadful Parent is worse.
I SWEAR- WHEN I WAS A MOTH DURING SANCTUARY, I LITERALLY TRIED TO GET GRANDPA 3 DIFFERENT TIMES ON MY OWN BEFORE I NEEDED 4 STRANGERS...4 STRANGERS!!! TO HELP ME GET HIM FINALLY. Before TGC implemented the new system where all seasonal spirits return with only their emotes, I would tell all of my friends that grandpa was by-far the hardest spirit to get. NONE OF THEM BELIEVED ME...until that fateful day, when I watched ALL of them crash and burn multiple times and fail miserably, because, "wow, your'e so right!! He's super hard to get!!" Yeah, sure, don't listen to me...I'm just a lame 2-year old vet, what would I know- ☠ Long-story-short, Gramps has always been one of my favorite spirits. He is iconic; we love him, we need him, but we don't have to like reliving him!! 🤣
LMAO... we all knew who would be No.1!! 'Respect'fully though, I find the Respectful Pianist easy enough if timed right, so would personally rank them 6 or 7. But quite an apt ranking.... loved it so much since could relate with it all!

Anyways, personally I find spirits from wasteland the hardest one in comparison to others. I even did twice or four times for most of the hardest spirits but I can't really do that in krills presence.
I didn’t even know it was hard to complete the most of the memories. But then I realized the SkyKid was a chibi and I was wheezing 😂 Hated the krill one and the rock hopping one but only got hit once in the former (didn’t lose my wings thankfully because I was in that little structure that trapped the lost light in to collect). Hesitating to do the duck dude one. The pioneer was infuriating somehow.
The fact that I lit up all of these spirits when I was still new without knowing the fact that I cannot pay for their items unless they reappear as a ts is something
I play Sky on switch, and the the controls make most of these pretty easy or a bit challenging. HOWEVER, Saluting protector, pleaful parent, and hiking grouch are still pretty hard. Saluting protector took practice, and became just challenging. The hiking grouch has the same deal, but is still more challenging. Really have to know how to fly without losing it. But the hardest on console is for sure pleaful parent. That one doesn't make you better per say, nor have much technique. And it still has an element of luck. There's a reason that was my last spirit to collect until the next season. The few times it's a daily quest makes me audibly groan. Edit: Really wished I knew the home button exploit to avoid them the first time I did it. I still don't use the exploit often after the fact, but it works. Although, last time it glitched the whole game to be lighted red as if a giant krill was looking at the whole world. Stayed like that until I exited game. Was kinda cool.

Time spent doesn't necessarily represent how difficult the journey to get a spirit emote is... And in that this list got it right. But how did the most challenging spirit get placed in 5th place? This spirit made me afraid of heights in a game where we can fly... made me angry every single time he falls... was the only spirit that even with the help of other players (many of them), could still be erased in a simple mistake of an individual. If anyone here has had the courage and eagerness for challenges to revive him alone and then again while help other players, you all know that this is indeed the most difficult spirit of all. And I hope he will be used as inspiration for creating new ones.

I personally feel the #1 and #2 places should be swapped. At least you don't have to worry about losing any winged light from dark dragons with the hiking grouch. With you sometimes needing to abandon the spirit and leave it to reset just to avoid getting attacked.
i had a heart attack reliving dismiss how did you do it so easily sob. literally we had like 5 people so i wasn't sure if the krill was looking at me or one of the other 4 players also reliving the spirit and since the krill was buggy i had several heart attacks because i thought the krill was aiming for me and didn't get the shop open in time.
Did sparkler in one go... The pleading parent is the hardest and most dangerous one, it caused me more than 10 wl just to complete it. The old man in Island sanctuary is tedious but finished it in one go.
The crabs just kind of missed when I was doing the crab whisperer so it was really easy. Not even the krill bothered me! The other spirits I did with help (with the exception of the sparkler parent and laidback pioneer that I also found to be really easy for some reason?) That being said... I haven't done 'don't go' because both I and my two companions got krilled (and the one that I didn't know got krilled twice) during the saluting protector so, safe to say that I'm traumatized :) and I also haven't done our lovely 1st place contestant because it's awful and because my sister has accidentally yeeted the light off the mountain more than once :(
i remember that spirit from sanctuary where you climb rock formations. It was a quest to god knows what season and I learnt my lesson of doing last minute quests before reset
That saluting spirit in the first skrill area was a nightmare to do on my own and just yesterday I was helping someone through it and oh my gosh...was disastrous.
I graduated from being a moth when I had to deal with that spirit in the vault.. spent a week on it of death and falling. Not to mention my kid was smaller so I’d pass under the stepping stones without jumping up. I can traverse any steps or ladders now 😎

That sparkle spirit made me stopped playing sky for a year, i was a moth, and didn’t know how to knock down the crabs, and the maze is really dark, and i couldn’t go to eden too, but i played again at december last year when my sis downloaded this game, i think gw’s spirits are more easy than that hidden forest’s spirit, i relieved them last week before sky patch krill tricks 😆

yesterday a veteran was helping me with the shushing light scholar and we were almost done when the light fell. They just disappeared and left me crying
had help with pleaful parent and respectful pianist. this online friend of mine (that I've just known for a month) just told me to shoo away any crabs coming and he would do all the spirit gathering 🥲 we did the pleaful parents twice and the 2nd time he just told me to stay put at the safe place bcs its dangerous and he would do all the gathering himself 🥲 i felt like proposing him right then and there 🥲❤
3:37 I actually avoided the krills when getting that spirit. But it was a pain trying to get to the tower. The dark plants were burnt so. I still managed to go up there with my ways of flying and climbing
I did the crab one with another person lol. One of us was baiting the krill and the other was guiding the spirit. Most of the time it was me who guided the spirit, but when the other person lost WL they went back to the light circle and I collected their WL for them. And yeah I was the bait for a sec; it was honestly super scary for me T^T glad that I finished doing it tho.
i had a tough time with saluting (i lost 5 stars i think), thinking grouch (i gave up 5 times lmao i keep going home and decide to do it the next day until one day a stranger helped me😂), and shushing (i was a moth i keep falling and my friends actually the one who relieved it in the end i contribute 1%)
All of these gave me war flashbacks, as a moth during the time I did all of them by myself and I screamed everytime the timer went off or the light just slid down the hill side 😭😭😭
I was lucky to get it myself in an empty server. But a friend of mine didn't have it and apparently absolutely everyone decided to go get it at the same time as us. It took so many tries oh god. Me and another person who already had the spirit had to resort to herding the others with our torches hahaha. Luckily worked out in the end.
for me saluting protector was super easy because the krill got stuck in the ground and never moved, i screenshotted and was so happy i didnt have to panic during it 😂

I managed to get all the spirits i found (some as a lone moth)... Except the grumpy one. Even with a something to recharge my light faster, i struggled and ended up falling to the very bottom of the island after being almost to the top. I'll maybe try again with some friends this time-
Three more. Hiking Grouch (ofc), Pleaful Parent (TGC just wants to kill me at this point) and Shushing Scholar (carry quests on floating platforms is a bad idea)
When i got the last one, i fell down one ledge, and the light was still stuck on the previous one. I was wearing chibi mask and i witnessed the light fade in front of my eyes. It was a sad day .-.
The last spirit is probably the second worse but honestly my worst one is the one where you slide down a mountain. The time is so tight that you often just barely get it. Honestly glad you don’t gave to relive the pain all over again (unless you like the challenge)

I managed to complete it onec but the game got bugged that 1 time and wouldn let me burn the statue so i just left and watched anime

Same! I got better at flying by practicing switching the flight toggles at the right time while doing that darn spirit.
Luckily I've got all the spirits. And when their time came as Traveling Spirits, I just need to buy their stuff :)🕯️

I find that the best way is to do it together with someone, that way you take turns jumping and if you lose the light it will latch onto the other person and not fall into the void (that is unless you both jump at the same time cause of impatience :'))

shush spirit was the second travelling spirit i met when i was a moth, i had no idea that it was a ts tho and i relieved it just easy no struggle and now ive been playing sky for 10+ months and mastered every sky things including controls, and now i have a beta account, which doesnt have the spirit yet so i went to relieve it but it does take me so much time and tries??????? why does the moth me always does better
I feel like some of the spirits really aren't meant to be done alone hahaha. Especially the wasteland ones just gotta have someone distract the krills and crabs
I never realized that being a moth in sanctuary and reliving grandpa grouch with four flaps is hell of a nightmare.

One of the hardest base game spirits from my moth days was the manta call. Of course the vault ones that required 4 players or/and other emotes were annoying to, but once i started the spirit memory, the manta call was the hardest to finish
Is this one from Valley's citadel? Yes, it was a PAIN! I couldn't do it on my own... too many fragments flying everywhere all around the screen and too little time. Very hard indeed.
Now it is just one fragment at a time, so it is really easier.
The umbrella spirit is hard to relive if ur doing it with randoms who don't know how the spirit works
We took a whole 4 tries with my group because a bunch of randoms didnt know that we needed to give the spirit time to recover from the rain smh

i got hiking grouch when there was this bug in sanctuary islands where all the cores of the spirits were concentrated in the same area as the spirit guide for some reason. i had to walk/fly HALFWAY AROUND THE ISLAND just to get to the first spirit marker
good news is i did it first try :’D, never reliving that spirit again

THE HIKING GROUCH GAVE ME ACTUAL NIGHTMARES PLS
All spirit in GW (i became a resident meat shield for ppl there coz I like doing them) and the one carry spirit in Vault was very easy for me. But the grouch? F- yeah mad props for that guy.
I dreaded the Pleadful Parent spirit for a while before deciding I was going to fill that emote spot, even if I lose a few winged lights. Luckily, another player was doing the spirit and had guided me along, they had the krill pathway down. I only got krilled once cause I couldn't tell where it was coming from (although it should have been obvious) and I was seeing if a glitched worked for the switch (it didn't). We only got spotted towards the end, but they ran to the next hiding spot, taking the krill's eyes off me long enough to get close enough to the spot so when I was spotted I had enough time to hide and not lose the spirit.
I get why the Hiking Grouch Guy is bad, I hated reliving it for a quest, and it has earned its spot on this list, but I will forever argue the Pleadful Parent is worse.

I SWEAR- WHEN I WAS A MOTH DURING SANCTUARY, I LITERALLY TRIED TO GET GRANDPA 3 DIFFERENT TIMES ON MY OWN BEFORE I NEEDED 4 STRANGERS...4 STRANGERS!!! TO HELP ME GET HIM FINALLY.
Before TGC implemented the new system where all seasonal spirits return with only their emotes, I would tell all of my friends that grandpa was by-far the hardest spirit to get. NONE OF THEM BELIEVED ME...until that fateful day, when I watched ALL of them crash and burn multiple times and fail miserably, because, "wow, your'e so right!! He's super hard to get!!" Yeah, sure, don't listen to me...I'm just a lame 2-year old vet, what would I know- ☠
Long-story-short, Gramps has always been one of my favorite spirits. He is iconic; we love him, we need him, but we don't have to like reliving him!! 🤣
LMAO... we all knew who would be No.1!! 'Respect'fully though, I find the Respectful Pianist easy enough if timed right, so would personally rank them 6 or 7. But quite an apt ranking.... loved it so much since could relate with it all!

Anyways, personally I find spirits from wasteland the hardest one in comparison to others. I even did twice or four times for most of the hardest spirits but I can't really do that in krills presence.

Hated the krill one and the rock hopping one but only got hit once in the former (didn’t lose my wings thankfully because I was in that little structure that trapped the lost light in to collect). Hesitating to do the duck dude one. The pioneer was infuriating somehow.

I did these all in my first week of playing. Thanks wasteland and seasonal spirits.
I play Sky on switch, and the the controls make most of these pretty easy or a bit challenging. HOWEVER, Saluting protector, pleaful parent, and hiking grouch are still pretty hard. Saluting protector took practice, and became just challenging. The hiking grouch has the same deal, but is still more challenging. Really have to know how to fly without losing it. But the hardest on console is for sure pleaful parent. That one doesn't make you better per say, nor have much technique. And it still has an element of luck. There's a reason that was my last spirit to collect until the next season. The few times it's a daily quest makes me audibly groan.
Edit: Really wished I knew the home button exploit to avoid them the first time I did it. I still don't use the exploit often after the fact, but it works. Although, last time it glitched the whole game to be lighted red as if a giant krill was looking at the whole world. Stayed like that until I exited game. Was kinda cool.

I've been playing for a long time, and I totally disagree with this difficulty list.
Time spent doesn't necessarily represent how difficult the journey to get a spirit emote is... And in that this list got it right. But how did the most challenging spirit get placed in 5th place?
This spirit made me afraid of heights in a game where we can fly... made me angry every single time he falls... was the only spirit that even with the help of other players (many of them), could still be erased in a simple mistake of an individual.
If anyone here has had the courage and eagerness for challenges to revive him alone and then again while help other players, you all know that this is indeed the most difficult spirit of all.
And I hope he will be used as inspiration for creating new ones.

I personally feel the #1 and #2 places should be swapped. At least you don't have to worry about losing any winged light from dark dragons with the hiking grouch. With you sometimes needing to abandon the spirit and leave it to reset just to avoid getting attacked.
i had a heart attack reliving dismiss how did you do it so easily sob. literally we had like 5 people so i wasn't sure if the krill was looking at me or one of the other 4 players also reliving the spirit and since the krill was buggy i had several heart attacks because i thought the krill was aiming for me and didn't get the shop open in time.
Did sparkler in one go... The pleading parent is the hardest and most dangerous one, it caused me more than 10 wl just to complete it. The old man in Island sanctuary is tedious but finished it in one go.
The crabs just kind of missed when I was doing the crab whisperer so it was really easy. Not even the krill bothered me! The other spirits I did with help (with the exception of the sparkler parent and laidback pioneer that I also found to be really easy for some reason?)
That being said... I haven't done 'don't go' because both I and my two companions got krilled (and the one that I didn't know got krilled twice) during the saluting protector so, safe to say that I'm traumatized :) and I also haven't done our lovely 1st place contestant because it's awful and because my sister has accidentally yeeted the light off the mountain more than once :(
i remember that spirit from sanctuary where you climb rock formations. It was a quest to god knows what season and I learnt my lesson of doing last minute quests before reset
I lost count of the amount of times I attempted the grouchy hiker
and then I cry more when the daily quests makes us relive any hard or carry spirit

That saluting spirit in the first skrill area was a nightmare to do on my own and just yesterday I was helping someone through it and oh my gosh...was disastrous.
Shushing one, and Hiking Grouch were the easiest to me because i carried them alone.
I graduated from being a moth when I had to deal with that spirit in the vault.. spent a week on it of death and falling. Not to mention my kid was smaller so I’d pass under the stepping stones without jumping up.
I can traverse any steps or ladders now 😎

For some reason, the sparkler spirit follows taller people easier (and can't be stolen by people on the upper floor by accident as much)
That sparkle spirit made me stopped playing sky for a year, i was a moth, and didn’t know how to knock down the crabs, and the maze is really dark, and i couldn’t go to eden too, but i played again at december last year when my sis downloaded this game, i think gw’s spirits are more easy than that hidden forest’s spirit, i relieved them last week before sky patch krill tricks 😆
2 sky kids carried me for that laid back pioneer spirit when i was a moth, aND MAN I DIDNT KNOW I HAD TO HIDE AND THOUGHT IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE😭😭😭
This is why some of guided spirits recommend done in solo since I hate it when people flying instead of walking

yesterday a veteran was helping me with the shushing light scholar and we were almost done when the light fell. They just disappeared and left me crying
had help with pleaful parent and respectful pianist. this online friend of mine (that I've just known for a month) just told me to shoo away any crabs coming and he would do all the spirit gathering 🥲 we did the pleaful parents twice and the 2nd time he just told me to stay put at the safe place bcs its dangerous and he would do all the gathering himself 🥲 i felt like proposing him right then and there 🥲❤
3:37 I actually avoided the krills when getting that spirit. But it was a pain trying to get to the tower. The dark plants were burnt so. I still managed to go up there with my ways of flying and climbing

I did the crab one with another person lol. One of us was baiting the krill and the other was guiding the spirit. Most of the time it was me who guided the spirit, but when the other person lost WL they went back to the light circle and I collected their WL for them. And yeah I was the bait for a sec; it was honestly super scary for me T^T glad that I finished doing it tho.

i had a tough time with saluting (i lost 5 stars i think), thinking grouch (i gave up 5 times lmao i keep going home and decide to do it the next day until one day a stranger helped me😂), and shushing (i was a moth i keep falling and my friends actually the one who relieved it in the end i contribute 1%)
I never did number 1. I only joined when smn was like 98%done with the spirit 😂
The one in sanctuary with the crabs deserves honorable mentions imo.
All of these gave me war flashbacks, as a moth during the time I did all of them by myself and I screamed everytime the timer went off or the light just slid down the hill side 😭😭😭

I was lucky to get it myself in an empty server.
But a friend of mine didn't have it and apparently absolutely everyone decided to go get it at the same time as us. It took so many tries oh god.
Me and another person who already had the spirit had to resort to herding the others with our torches hahaha. Luckily worked out in the end.

for me saluting protector was super easy because the krill got stuck in the ground and never moved, i screenshotted and was so happy i didnt have to panic during it 😂

I managed to get all the spirits i found (some as a lone moth)... Except the grumpy one.
Even with a something to recharge my light faster, i struggled and ended up falling to the very bottom of the island after being almost to the top. I'll maybe try again with some friends this time-
Three more. Hiking Grouch (ofc), Pleaful Parent (TGC just wants to kill me at this point) and Shushing Scholar (carry quests on floating platforms is a bad idea)

The last spirit is probably the second worse but honestly my worst one is the one where you slide down a mountain. The time is so tight that you often just barely get it. Honestly glad you don’t gave to relive the pain all over again (unless you like the challenge)
