Personally I've switched my EDC to fixed blades instead of flippers for the Xmas period due to the diminished motor skills associated with alcohol consumption. And a demo of my knife skills for one of my nephews that went awry. I mean, nerve damage in feet mends really fast in kids, right? I'm sure we'll all laugh about it next year.
I can understand fully, I was Allright with my Benchmade 940 on my camping trip, pitch dark and several drinks in. Can't say the same about my victorinox fieldmaster that I tried to close the blade but instead was pushing the open direction. Cut my palm pretty good that night and also changed how I think about what I use if I'm not dead sober on a camping trip.
This knife happens to be for me, but I am mostly here for the knife philosopher known as AKB. I swear that I didn’t discover this channel looking for an overly large sized Japanese pop idol group consisting of rotating members.
I do enjoy a Lundquist, he’s got an interesting, signature style. I think he does a good job of balancing unique design with usability. My pick is the Black Void Opus, which will also be the name of my first spaceship. Front flippers live or die by their action, and the Opus (and Feist) are extreeeemely well done and easy to open. The Opus (mine anyway) has a chisel grind and a weird asymmetry going on that I dig. The overall profile and shape is art, it looks like a sculpted monolith. And I don’t throw words like monolith around lightly.
My sincere thanks for recommending it, this knife really is as good as it gets as far as front flippers that I have tried. The little details in the knife are fantastic (I like the chamfered spine, and milled liner lock. )Deployment is easy, and mine came guillotine drop shut smooth and got my thumb when I first tried it shut it because I didn’t expect the action to be so smooth. It’s definitely a new experience for me.
I just grabbed one too! I do not have a Kizer any more nor a front flipper in my collection. So I was due. Plus 4v and micarta for less than a bone! That’s a steal!
My man! Somehow I lost your channel on UA-cam when I lost the ability to purchase new knives after my business collapsed. I'm so glad to find your still going strong and we're getting recommendations of your channel again . Keep it up we love your channel and dry humor. Some day I'll actually get to try some of these Bladed Tools again. My girl and I will still watch when blade envy doesn't hurt to bad.
Its nice as a liner lock - but I would like it as a framelock with TI scales. I think that would make it really really nice. Also a proper deep carry clip that actually hides the knife - not the one where the top of the scale still sticks out of the pocket.
Nerds are funny. I got a K390 Delica and jammed that thing into a bottle of mustard and left it there for 24 hours. It looks amazing, so good that I bought a Police 2 in k390 almost immediately and a much larger bottle of mustard, but then I did not use the mustard because a glass of vinegar was cheaper and I didn't want to waste pretzels. Happy New year.
I am right-handed. As such, I keep my phone in the right pocket. I don't like to put my knives in that same pocket, so I put my knives in the left. As such, even though I usually transfer the knife to my right hand, I only look for knives that are reversible. The one nice benefit? When setup for lefty carry, the pocket clips are rarely uncomfortable for right-hand use.
I just grabbed one. If you like it I’m pretty sure I will. My favorite front flipper is a sharp by design apex. Best action ever. The best part isn’t the action though. It’s the sound it makes when deployed. It’s the best sound I’ve ever heard. The damasteel helps too.
I'm just curious as a person not living in the us, why knife people in the usa cut so much cardboard? Is it a recycle thing or a knife testing method? Or may be a job related with cutting cardboard, I'm asking just for not knowing about it
Two things. They need to be broken down for the recycle bin. It is called B-roll and helps to break up the footage from just a shot of the knife. Thanks for asking.
Most people hate front flippers. I get why. Still, I love me some front flipping. So, while the original Feist was not the first front flipper, it definitely was the knife that started the modern trend. Since the introduction of the original, JL has only perfected the geometry and balance of his knives. I am happy with the regular feist. No need to upgrade to something larger.
I carry my Lundquist designed Civivi Lumi every day. Poor little thing is beat to all hell lol. Love me a top/front flipper, especially ones by Lundquist. Definitely getting one of these
I’m the stubborn old dude who’s still holding out hope that the front flipper fad goes out of style. Admittedly this seems to be among the few that did it well. Still won’t buy it but always enjoy your content.
Happy new year man! So you kinda just treat it like 1070 and you should be okay. I have never heard of Richlight. Seems cool though! Considering that I am a southpaw I carry my knife at the 03h00 position anyway as my pistol is at the 09h00 so it works for me.
As good as it gets., sorry wont pay premium for china knives given the opportunity cost. Most products we use there's not a real choice on where your goods come from, but for a passion like knife collecting and everyday carrying, where there is abundant knife makers from places without egregious violations and trade imbalances. Knifes are close to the heart, make your purchases matter. At this point given an apple to apple comparison, there's isnt any knife or steel/design combo that's honestly making more marginal advances in any metric above any other piece so.... Happy new years. Still clicked like, Advanced Knife bro always deserves the one uppers.
PM 2… oh pu pu!Gimme a P3 in M-390. Easy to sharpen and mine has yet to stain. I even got a gray scale for it cause I don’t like blue for scales. So I have the coolest P-3 in the whole world…
I had a normal feist and the lockup was so poor I pressed on it slightly with my thumb while holding it and it cut the absolute fuck out of my index finger. gotta say, that fucker was sharp as hell out of the factory. 9/10 experience.
I watch this channel for all the knives I can never have. I can't spend more than $50 on a thing I'm gonna accidentally lose in a public bathroom or something. Matter of time.
Thanks for the review, I think I will pick one up been wanting a good front flipper and Kizer’s never done me wrong. As a GEC collector what are your thoughts on Case Knife collectors and their mysterious second mouths?
Am I supposed to be embarrassed that I can't flip knives open? I've tried with various knives with different configurations and I just do not have the digital dexterity to not doing the knife out of my hand. I think I should be more embarrassed that I'm thinking about this.
Oh but have you tried the Spyderco Stretch 2 XL? I like to call it The Atlantean, for I found it in a cave after being chased by a pack of wolves sitting by the side of Crom.
I’m pretty sure it’s available only his website and it comes and goes out of stock as he gets inventory. Shoot him an email and ask when he expects to get stock
I like it when you do the "uncle randy" voice... Reminds me of when my uncle would take me for long rides in his f150 as a kid... for some reason I had to sit in his lap for "safety" reasons when clearly there was plenty of room on the bench seat.. wait a minute! Damn you uncle Randy! I always thought it was weird he kept a cucumber in his pocet in the middle of august... huh
The writing here is better than most Hollywood productions. I just woke up and it was playing... A gift from the UA-cam Gods.

What everyone needs in a state of diminished capacity is faster access to a tool capable of greater damage.
This should be on every t-shirt.
Jeez man, don't drink and flip!
I don't care about this knife. I'm never gonna buy it, I'm just here for the middle aged man who makes funny knife videos
Yup. This knife is not for me. Thank goodness AKB is for me tho.
We can tell. Mr Kinky.
This knife happens to be for me, but I am mostly here for the knife philosopher known as AKB. I swear that I didn’t discover this channel looking for an overly large sized Japanese pop idol group consisting of rotating members.
Yep. I've come all the way from Britain to listen to this 👍
@nandayane well I sure did. Can't beat that choreography. 10/10 minimalist front flippers with nice blade steels

Yeah I’m here for the snarky banter. Love his beer reviews. The Advanced Knife Bro is like the Anti-Hipster❤
Hands looking good dude. Also nice review.
Just makes me want a Pro-Tech Malibu. The expensive one with titanium handle that I should not buy. I need to cut some cardboard though so who knows.
The only tears I shed were tears of joy seeing a new AKB vid ❤
Nice looking shiv. Take the pocket clip off & you can keester that mug no problem.
If that's what XL looks like, can I apply the same geometry in say.. other parts of my life?
