Hey Gregory, there is nothing too special about the kicks. I mostly use samples. What I do often is reduce a few db around 100-200 Hz (depends on the sample) to make the kicks a bit softer. Most of the time I also reduce the heights. In this particular track I used the parameter lock function of the Octatracks sequencer to do a few EQ variations within the pattern. The sub bass is coming from the Volca Kick, which for my taste is not great for bassdrums but even more for sub basslines.
@@basicnoise thank you. And what about the basses? I understand that it is mostly all about the listening experience and some sound design skills, but there are always, you know, DOs and DON'Ts. Your sound in these beautiful sessions is very soft and vibey, but have a lot of groove and reasonable punch at the same time and your lows are always tight, cohessive and sexy=) Just want to know how do you reach that in hardware realm. Thanks a lot for your time!
The basses are from the Volca Kick. The rest is just a feel for the mix I guess. I usually spend a lot of time in balancing the whole mix, especially when I record the session into one stereo track only.
This track has been in my regular playlist for a year already. Never get tired of it. Love that vibe!
TOP! Geht richtig ...
Superb!

Adorable 👋👋👋
well done, thx!
I used to work a lot with your tracks in the past
Can you make any tutorial or masterclass about how you create your kick\bass grooves? Or I would just buy kicks from your sessions=))
