I felt that...
This song is a lot like Ragna himself, in that it sounds angry and edgy as hell, but if you pay attention to the lyrics, he's basically talking about sacrificing himself so that others can have something better than this crazy world they live in. Even the chorus line, "Do I need a reason to hold back the hunger?", is him asking why he'd need to justify NOT doing a bad thing in spite of all the crap he goes through.
I'm probably reading too much into this, but it seems incredibly fitting to me.
As much as I like this read of yours, it's definitely not the case. The lyrics are definitely more about the Black Beast's perspective, unending hatred for the world and everything and everyone in it, including itself. "Chewing my own limbs, I'm the last to go. Finally it's time, O paradise come!" That line pretty much spells out that it views the violent deaths of everyone in the world, including its own since it intends to kill itself once everyone else is dead, as an unambiguous good thing.
@@HEX33C1FFthe song really is about the inner nihilism of Ragna and the Black Beast, something that makes sense for who Ragna was during the earlier games, although since somewhere around Chronophantasma, this song is basically irrelevant now because Ragna wants to save everyone... Which maybe someone could recontextulize the song somehow into that
@@notarealspy4090 Rebellion's lyrics work better for that. Even the change to a heroic outlook is reflected by the line "Twist of fate, even though it's colder than death you'll break everything so everything broken is brave". Rebellion 2 even features the drum fill at the beginning of Black Onslaught 2 during its solo section.

Ragna managed to stand his ground against Susano'o, a literal God. The Black Beast was able to devastate a good 80% of the planet.
Dante is fighting a person with the power to rival a nuclear bomb in terms of destructive power.

Funny you say that. I ran a tabletop rpg where this exact fucking thing happened. The joke was the PC was helping Ragna write the damn song, but got distracted and ran off and abandoned Ragna in a tight spot. Next time Ragna saw him, he said, "Hey assholen I finished the damn song!" Cue boss fight xD

Yeah it’s something I noticed
They were remixed for the album. I noticed the lows are quiet and the upper mids are very loud. I also noticed pieces of some songs have weird sound glitches in them on Apple Music. It may be a platform specific issue but I can not say for certain at this moment. I usually just listen to the originals the way it is anyway, I like my flacs lol.
