  • In the past years I have observed the hype of making campfire smoke soaps and candles. This is usually done by using a campfire smoke fragrance oil. In this video, I an using a natural smoke process to achieve a smoky scented soap!
    Please be aware that this video isn't a tutorial, but more a glimpse at my process, research and testing! Enjoy watching!

    I would love to see a video about how the clay is prepared to become an ingredient in your soaps. I love that you go the extra mile to make/grow/prepare your own ingredients. I know that it can be a pretty labor intensive and intimidating.

      Making the clay took me about two weeks from harvest to dry form! There are many steps. 🤪

    This is one of my favourite videos that you have made. You seem so happy and it’s such a great soap to showcase where you live. I absolutely love that you got the clay nearby. The earth is full of gifts for us! Merci.

    Wow, what a unique soap 😍
    I love the idea of smoking the oils and butters and the process behind that clay. It’s amazing how so many of your soaps are made with local products or in this case with the help of the locals too.
    It’s just so beautiful!

    So many questions! How long did the oils and butters stay in the smoke house? what type of wood are they using? Has the smoke scent stayed after the cure? This is a really fascinating technique.

    • @ArianeArsenault
      @ArianeArsenault  Рік тому +1

      Yes this soap was made over 6 weeks ago and the smell still holds! I asked the smoke house to give the oils a long time in the smoke. I wanted to make sure it held.

    Love the video. I have been thinking about collecting what we call pluff md here in SC, it is marsh mud. So do you boil the clay etc. I know sometimes there can be bacteria in our marshes. So want to make sure I am killing anything in it that may cause problems

    • @ArianeArsenault
      @ArianeArsenault  Рік тому +4

      Yes you have to wash and strain the clay and heat it to 120 degrees for 30 minutes to kill any bacteria. I didn’t film/show the whole process. But you can find video and blogs that talk about harvesting clay.
