Quentin Coleman I figure that because offset Julia would set everywhere Susan would sit or be together in pics as well. They way they act on TV seems so real just asking it's called good acting.
@@juanlee9119 I'm late on this but Julia and Susan definitely were friendly. Both always complimented each other in magazines & were supportive of one another. It wasn't like the Victor/Jack feud on Y&R, as Eric Braeden & Peter Bergman have a fractured work relationship.
Loved this scene...it illustrates the multiple layers of the complex Brooke/Erica rivalry. When they forged common ground or some understanding, the acting always was powerful & scenes emphatically written through admiration of their history & idiosyncratic dynamics.
They had such a complex relationship. But I think Brooke was more aware of it than Erica was. It was one of the more fascinating ones on the show and actually lasted longer than one Erica has had with anyone; including her men.
I remember thinking at the time, AMC really missed out on golden opportunity with Erica's scarred face. I mean, Erica defines herself so much by her beauty. I was just expecting the writers to delve deeper into the psyche of Erica Kane and how difficult that was for her. But I loved how she just put on a mask and pressed on! That was in character! Stopped for a second and them going on!
Ah yes, the “Phantom of the Soap Opera” story. I totally forgot why she was in the mask even though I never missed an episode between 1991 and the end.
Didn't Vanessa see Richard Fields rape her when she was 14? I have seen posts about it but never seen an actual scene with Erica finding out this information. I would LOVE to see what LaKane did to her after finding that out.
fwdthinker No, Vanessa was dating Fields and found out who he was after she became pregnant with Trey. In the transcripts I found that Vanessa and Erica did have a conversation about it. When Erica found out that Trey and Kendall were siblings, she assumed that Vanessa had been raped too and actually tried to bond with Vanessa. But Vanessa clarified that she had been an adult, that it was consensual, and that she had had genuine feelings for Fields.
Yes, she did. She described to Erica seeing Fields rape a little girl in a party dress, but never said that it was Erica. Vanessa told Greenlee that she had seen it.
Yes, Gj R, David and Colby slept together more than once on the online series... and this was after him not only having an "intimate" relationship with Liza, but also delivering Colby. It can definitely be looked at as disturbing. ;)
we didn't. It would've required Lucci to sit in the makeup chair for at least an hour a day and it likely was too expensive to do While they showed Julia's scar in 1994, this was when ratings were higher (i.e. had a bigger budget) and when taping was not as rushed.
@@cajayson8301 I honestly always wanted Susan to play an ugly role. I think showing the scars would have made her stretch as an actress. She's beautiful in all her characters. Even as Jane she was just Erica in glasses.
@@teddygianni1371 Have you ever seen the TV movie she did called “Double Edge”? She plays two different characters, and one of them was really plain. She really was almost unrecognizable. It’s a great movie.
Agnes Nixon was actively writing during this time and she mentioned in an interview that for the audience to not see Erica's scars added more intrigue and mystery to the story. I agree with her. I remember the times David would take her mask off and dress her wounds, it was tantalizing to never see how badly Erica looked.
AMAZING moment between Erica and Brooke. Rivals, yes, but rivals with respect and history. Women to admire.
I love it right here Dorian & Viki is better
Jane Grey I wonder did Julia and Susan get alone in real life?
@@juanlee9119 They were actually good friends offset from what I remember. Much like Robin Strasser and Erika Slezak aka Viki & Dorian.

Awesome scene between Brooke and Erica!
Vanessa was a lowkey hater. Brooke is Erica archenemy is the 1 who encourage 2 come 2 the club. Awesome scene between those 2 I love it.

She was in a car accident with David Haywood.
Will Kane family bloodline continue with Miranda Gabrielle ian spike?
Vanessa was so manipulative.

Vanessa was a horrible person and a complete opportunist

Whitney Davis Oh, fun. The more you know. That makes me appreciate her more as the villain she was, than if she had just been passive to Fields.
Wasn't David sleeping with Colby in the online series? Gross.

It’s also typical because of SORASing...happens all the time in soaps 😃

Why was erica wearing a mask
Jayme Johnson Her face had been badly injured in a car accident, and she wore the mask to cover the bandages and scarring.
This was such a dumb storyline.
😅Yes right y watch it then?
