Thank you so much for this film. My Dad spoke about Paul Robeson. At Dads funeral, we played a couple Paul Robeson tracks 🫶 I had no idea he performed at the Danilo. My Dad was a proper grafter, he worked at Accles & Pollock in Oldbury. He was 50 when I was born and would be 104 now if he was still alive. You’ve filled in a missing link of history for me. Thank you 🙏 ❤🫶
This is absolutely brilliant. I had no idea about all this and I only live down the road! You are so knowledgeable! Keep up the fantastic work, and please please please do one on Stourbridge!!x

Hi Jamie. My nan was recommended your video. Astonished to find a mention of P&R Services opposite the Danilo Cinema as it was owned by was her dad, Frederick Poole. Combined with you talking about her Dads business, you mentioned Chattin & Hortens and the photo of people queueing outside one of their sale days features her Nan, her Aunt and her Cousin. So she wanted me to write to thank you for the trip down memory lane, best regards from my nan, Lynda Laker
Your BEST video yet mate, absolutely brilliantly put together, you clearly have a passion for local history and our great past. This video should be shown in schools all over the world, look forward to more of these, well done mate, look forward to meeting ya one day..
thanks jamie, i enjoyed your vid greatly. would also like to see a marsh and baxters vid some time in the future. keep up with your passion for local history, its greatly appreciated ime sure. regards mick.
Amazing Video So much history in the area! Would it be possible to do a video of Stourbridge Road Holly Hall and the surrounding area? Particularly interested in more information about the Low Town site and the terraced houses opposite the Liberal club.
Great video. Thanks! I don’t know how you retain all the information without looking at a script! It’s so obvious local history is something that you love. Looking forward to more videos !!!

Brilliant video - bought back a lot of memories - thank you. Would really love it if you would do a video on St Michaels Church and also the land where Withymoor Village is now
Thank you so much for this extremely detailed video history of Brierley Hill. Through family research, i found out that my late mums grandmother Ada Lawrence lived at and served in the family pub come hotel called The horse row inn hotel in the 1890's. The lawrence family came from Birmingham. It was situated at number 31 high street. I believe that the premises was still there into the 1960's. And i read an article mentioning the place , in which a womam remembers going in there as a child and thought how posh it was. I would love to hear from your good self and others, if anyone remembers anything about this place, or had any pictures or newspaper articles mentioning it etc.
Great vid mate! Nice to see you back! Love watching them you do a really good job . Would be good if you could do 1 a week or more!! ahaa . Keep it up bro👍
Many thanks for the history of a local town. There so much I learned from the video that I never known existed. Just a same that the local council decided to knock down all of that historic buildings and for what ?.

I used to live in upper gornal vale street , the house was Victorian era I think . I would love you to do a history of that street as there was a windmill opposite my old house. It used to have a lot of the old features including an old fire place and an old pantry.
