Actually in Europe it's forbidden after 2018 to have a fixed ladder on your truck kids can use without supervision. So most fold away to a certain hight or are completely removable.

@@alexchavez4978 its more slippery but not that much. ladder looked pretty slippery too. putting 2 hands on the ladder and one foot on the tire and lifting up, theres an almost zero percent chance you would slip and hurt yourself.

I was a traffic officer in the UK. When we had a stranded 40 tonner in live lane we used the Land Rover Discos to tow them out because the Mitsubishis couldn’t manage it. Unfortunately the powers that be restricted the max to 3 tonnes eventually. The disco was the best car I’ve ever driven.
Which discovery? I’m guessing disco 4 with the 3.0 because the 2.7 would have melted like chocolate. The biggest issue with these vehicles is longevity. Fine when they’re under warranty or cared for at no cost by an in house shop like in the Police but after 3 years paying £1k to turn off a light that does nothing practically except fails the MoT is poor beyond words, then we’ll get to the electronic gremlins that actually disable the car
@@chunkyfecalbreakfast pretty sure it was the disco 3. I retired 7 years ago. Agree about the reliability, ours were serviced regularly by Guy Salmon of Knutsford. it was the performance and handling that I was referring too. It had sport mode with shift change paddles, lovely car to drive.
A defender that’s actually not horrific. I’ve had 3 defenders, great for short work on farms and off-road. But utter wank on long road journeys. Much much happier with my hilux 100x more comfortable.

A friend of mine had a defender for 7 months before selling it to car max. It actually had the check engine light come on, the dealership couldn’t figure out why and it refused to start a bunch of times. The saddest thing is that he paid $76,000 for it in 2021 and sold it 7 months later to car max for $79,000 because apparently these things have appreciated despite poor reliability

В Англии наверное нет такого понятия как "ледяной дождь". Открытая личинка замка зальëтся водой и замëрзнет. Так как автомобиль позиционируется как внедорожник, это предполагает езду по грязи и пресечëнной местности, замок будет забиваться грязью, песком и пр. что так-же может вызвать загрязнение личинки. Полагаю примитивные механически защëлки, были-бы более рациональными.
