    Michael went into a solo dance at the 2:08 mark and went right back into the routine dance. Michael was popping and you can tell he was bursting with energy.

    Wow seeing here on Soul Train brings back memories of setting in front of the television as a child in ‘71 and enjoying them on ST. I remember the excitement me and my siblings had all through the week knowing that the Jackson 5ive was going be on that show. The Jackson 5ive music was a big part of my childhood. I always thought that it was so cool having Jermaine and Tito playing their own instruments while performing; in fact Jermaine inspired me to learn how to play bass guitar. To this day I still have my J5 albums back at my parents house. Such fond memories. What a blessing growing up in the 70’s seeing their performances in real. RIP MJ. 🤗

    do ya notice michaels voice on hear sounds azactly the same like it did in 1969 singing i want you back. if you hear him singing i want you back in 1971 from the indiana special he sound a little more mature. this is 1972. some one please respond. thank you.

    Most likely to ALL the people who are saying michael lip sycned, his voice was beginning to mature too qucikly so he would crack when he would sing/record and of course thats b/c he was singng so like they did with justin bieber at the vma's in 2010 the had him lip sync

    I hate to say this because I know MJ fans are going to disagree but I always felt like Jermaine was the best singer in the group.

      They may have been brothers but they also had different jobs in the group, Michael was a great front man who was a great singer and dancers and Jermaine was a great bass player and a great crooner for the group and who could take the pressure off Michael as well as sing a great lead with a very soulful voice.

    Why does all the lyrics for this song have the lyric as you gotta reach up towards the sun? I could understand if the lyrics were hard but this is easy. He clearly says you gotta reap just what you sow.

    Mj was talented, but he only got 1 grammy for Off The wall and he didn't sell more than 7 million for that record either. There is a reason why none of Motown artists and legend sell 60 million records. It has to do with promotion and money. MJ got his promtion through videos and MTV. Thriller came at the right time and Motown 25 helped. Jermaine did not do many videos, but the ones he did are very popular, which goes to show that had he done more videos he would have sold more than he did.

    the J5 always put on a good performance. and for those who keep saying Soul Train always lip sync, arent fans of the show. Soul Tran has a good number of live performances. they wanted to do what American Bandstand wouldnt do.

    • @nomibe2911
      @nomibe2911 10 років тому +2

      It was a hit for him. It was a top 30 hit on the Billboard hot 100 and back then having a top 40 hit was pretty much a hit. That might be not a significant feat in today's time but it was something back then.
