The hanok village, by the sign, actually closes at 5 PM, not 7 PM. You have to remember that Korea uses military time. Usually, it is the oldest person who pays, but generally, if invited somewhere, guests don't pay. For example, when a person has a birthday party, the person who is having the birthday pays for the entire group. So if you ever get invited to a birthday party, don't invite others to go with you without asking the birthday person. They will obviously say yes, in most instances, but remember, it is an added cost for the birthday person. However, Korean Americans do it the Western way where everyone except the birthday person pays for the evening. If hanging out with a group of friends who always go out, it can bankrupt the oldest person, so within a group of friends, people generally split the bill. I prefer metal chopsticks, but maybe it's because I am used to them as I grew up with them.
Hope you have a great time. You'll love it, i know i did though i went in the hight of Summer and your going in the very cold winter but its an amazing place all the same.
I went to Seoul in October 2018. If your into kdrama like me and my wife it's incredible. We loved visiting all the things seen on TV. We both love historical dramas and can't wait to go back. It's the only big city we really like. Very clean and it's a very conservative. Hotels are very reasonable. Great transportation system. With all the tv watching we have done over the years it's helped us with basic communication. Students are always excited to speak with Americans. Its adorable.
10:47 “seagul meat” haha. 갈매기살(galmaegi-sal) refers to the specific part of beef(or pork) rib. so it’s nothing to do with actual seagul, but shares the same word in Hangul
Thank you for this video. I just love Korea. I went to Seoul in March 2019 and loved it. I'll go back again in April 2020 and I'll try to visit as many cities as I can. hangug-eul salanghae ❤
Yes, please. S.Korea has other beautiful cities, not only Seoul. And each city has its own mood and different offers to enjoy. To be short, one province has one main city. Those cities are quite different from Seoul with different nature, history and food. 수원 of 경기도. 춘천 and 강릉 of 강원도. 대전 and 청주 of 충청도. 전주 and 광주 of 전라도. 대구 and 부산 of 경상도. 제주 and 서귀포 of 제주도. You can choose provinces and cities depending on what you want to enjoy. And those cities are better than Seoul in some aspects.
Omg. I think this is the best video about Korea. Thank you so much for making Korea so beautiful. Couldn't catch up lately but been watching your videos since your indian trips. Love all your work!

Try man. Not only Seoul. Or you can just drop by on the way to any Chinese or Japanese city. You wouldn't regret. Busan부산, a harbor city nearest to Japan and the second largest city in S.Korea. And Jeju제주 island, located between Japan and China with the highest mountain in S.Korea. It has exotic and tropical mood. I love the island. The airway between Seoul and Jeju is the busiest domestic line in the world, which means how S.Koreans love the island.
Wow!! Jim and Tah, that was a great video. That village you both went through was beautiful and breathtaking. I have to ask Jim, how did you get all that great aerial footage? Those shots of the city at night were fantastic and the colors were amazing. So much color and texture to everything from the architecture to the neon signs of the city and eateries. You both definitely finished off your Seoul South Korea mission with a great video, and I loved the evening meal with Tah's lovely friend as that is something that I have never seen. 👍👍🗣 < two thumbs up.

Although the info is a bit dodgy, you are an incredible cinematographer. The cuts, transitions, sound overlays, composition. Wow. Very impressed. Looks more like a documentary that a vlog.

What an intriguing place. My friend who's from here has told me quite a few interesting stories about it and it's FOR SURE one of the places on my list that I need to visit before I hit the dirt!✈️
Great video! 7:14 & 24:51 If you go to Hangang River park, there are ramen cooking machines in the convenient stores. Enjoying the night view of Seoul in Hangang Park and eating ramen is one of the things you have to do in Seoul :) The good thing about Korean bars is that you can always eat delicious food with alcohol, and at the same time, what I don't like is that you always have to order food to drink.
actually the 31 floor is only for the employees who work at the Lotte tower and they start allow people to visit there so that’s the reason why security is strict and the price is low at there

@@pisceskr yes you are right. We usually say the population of seoul is around 9.5M~10M, so what you said is totally right. I guess the thing 띵구(the one replied you ) wanted to say was the actual population changes depending in situations. It's because there's a province called Gyeonggi-do that is covering seoul. The population of Gyeonggi-do is around 10M~11M. Currently, the price of properties in Seoul are very high so lots of people buy there houses on Gyeonggi-do.
