standard speed mods on Pump are kinda outdated now. If you really want to be able to fine-tune your note scrolling speed on Pump, you should definitely use the Auto-Velocity. By default, it starts you at 550, but you can add/subtract as needed depending on the song etc.
I had the same issue when I first returned to Pump after a nearly 10yr hiatus, but learning how to use the Auto-Velocity feature has made a huge difference and even advanced my gameplay a lot faster. Good luck!
