    For the Lord comforts Zion; he comforts all her waste places and makes her wilderness like Eden, her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the voice of song. - Isaiah 51:3

    Update: I now take out the inserts BEFORE putting them in the wet bag so I can just dump them all in the washer, and don’t have to deal with the diapers after they’ve been sitting for a few days. Additionally, I found washing the diapers on HOT removes some of the added grime/etc and they smell better. Good luck cloth diapering!

    My son grew up on cloth diapers. The regular diapers were way too expensive back in my country 30 years ago. We used them only on special occasions like doctor visit or travel.

    My mom raised me on cloth diapers back when I was a baby in 93’. I hope to continue the sustainable tradition with my kids, if God wills I am blessed with them. Cloth pads are also great. My mom used a service to clean them so that might be an option for some people who don’t have regular access to a washer and dryer or they just want to save time.

    So you put the poopy diaper in the machine? How do you clean the machine? Isn't there any build up or smell in the machine?

      Breastfed babies have water soluble poops we don't have to do anything special. When they start solids you spray it off or dump it in the Toilet. My little one has Sensitive skin so I have to use triple paste in almost every change when we use that on his bum we need to use a diaper liner to protect the cloth diaper or eventually it won't absorb because of the baby rash paste. I'm cheap so I just use 2 viva Select a size paper towels instead of buying diaper liners. If you use liners clean up is easier

    Hi fellow momma! I am currently almost a month away from my due date! As the day is approaching fast I wanna make sure I have all my checklists completed. One thing I wanted to do was cloth diapering as well! Many think I’m crazy, but I know it will benefit me so much in the long run. At what age do you recommend starting cloth diapering?? I know many say wait until the newborn poo has ran its course since it tends to stick and ruin cloth diapers. What is your recommendation? Loved this video by the way! Very straight to the point and easy to follow☺️

      Hi! Congrats on your baby that is sooo exciting. I thought the same thing - I wanted to not put the pressure on myself right away with a newborn. I would say wait until you aren’t sleep deprived anymore 😅 and have got into a rhythm. For us, this was when my baby turned 2 months. Honestly, I thought it would take us longer but it’s different for everyone. TMI but his poops are still super runny but I haven’t noticed them ruining the diapers, they wash out just fine. Hope this helps!:)

      Oh also - I do use disposables when we go out just because I don’t wanna deal with carrying a dirty diaper all over lol.

    This is amazing and so sustainable! 🙌🏾🙌🏾Does the bag that you put the dirty diapers in tend to smell, or is there a way you all prevent it from having a strong odor?

    • @createdforeden
      @createdforeden  3 роки тому

      I have a pretty good sense of smell and I don’t notice it until like day 4 of a full bag - which is weird it doesn’t smell that bad!? there might be bags that hold in the smells better so I might buy one of those eventually :)

    Love this. Great video mama.
    We have a mix of noras and bum genius. And do cloth wipes.
    Have you tried taking the insert out when you’re done changing the diaper before you put it in the wet bag? It saves me the stinky job of pulling them all out later once they’ve been sitting in their own juices. Lol And you can just dump the whole thing in without touching anything. Game changer for me.
    This is my 3rd boy. We clothed the middle boy and this baby now too. Cloth is the best.
    I love the name Zion as well. Our baby is named Shepherd Zion. ♥️

      Hope the insert pulling out tip helps. I didn’t think to do that when we had our 2nd son. But have done so with our newest 3rd boy. And it is amazing.

      Haha. Yeah. For 7 they are about $65. But I spent $80 in one month for disposables 😳 so it’s worth it in the long run
