Better performance on Direct Queries - PBI Aggregation Tables

Having access to your data bang up to date can be a double edged sword. Knowing precise stock levels, staff locations or courier availability can influence sales and real time reporting is key.
Sending so many queries to your Database will not make you popular with IT! What if we could improve performance by pre-aggregating some of the data but leaving the flexibility for row level details.
