how do you lose a penthouse you never had? Just like the huge retail location with the $2 million finish out that never happened and was never going to happen. Nobody leases prime real estate to someone with no financials.

The lenders are trying to foreclose on the property.
And now Anthony is caught in the middle of his lease while doing so...

Or he was a casual dressed Rep for a bank but i doubt that becuase he said he had this new contract. Anthony got scammed by a realtor or manager that leased to him in hopes it would drag out for longer and got caught inbetween, but its a n easy fix if that property manager had a legit biz and has the deposit still and profits a good biz. Move tenant tony to new place and move on. Simple.
Anthony is spot on about being worried about his deposit. It doesn't matter what is technically the case. If the person owning the property and the lenders are battling out for the latter to be repaid... deposit can go poof even though it's not supposed to be comingled, and kept separate.
Anthony has had lots of other issues recently -- to say the least! But in this situation, if it's as presented in the episode, he has the right instinct to be concerned.
And his leasing broker is kinda embarrassed about it. But *must've* known given that he said it was a multi year battle... just didn't disclose it up front. (Suspicious!)
Landlords will use EVERY legal and otherwise excuse to never return deposits...

Anthony is so unlikable. It's crazy how pretty much everyone is loving his public downfall. If he could have been humble from the beginning,(or even turned humble after his first few epic failures) he'd have a ton of support and people would be doing anything in their power to help him. It’s because he’s essentially trying to create a reality show for views and publicity. There are two sides to his business, the actual watch business and the business of self promotion through these boom and bust crisis cycles that are intended to drum up name recognition and viewing. If I take a watch somewhere and sell it in cash it’s generally rather uninteresting, buyer looks at watch hands over cash deal done. This makes the process interesting, live a lavish lifestyle, wheeling and dealing, pitfalls, fakes, robberies etc. Companies like Ashland Investments don’t do any of this stuff but partake in the same business.

If he has a lease and he’s made his rent payments, how can they evict him? They have to return his deposit AND pay him out for breaking his lease. Also, he gets 30 days to move out.
In theory, yes. In practice... what happens in the video can happen. And there isn't really any immediate recourse.
Because there are multiple parties involved. Anthony (A), the Lessor/Owner (B), and the Lender (C). Apparently, the owner is severely behind on his payments to the lender, and they are trying to foreclose on the property. All concerns expressed here are valid. If you give someone $100k deposit and he gets in financial trouble, then the money can go poof unless it was in an escrow. Just like your watch can go poof if you give it to a shady and uninsured dealer for consignment.
