Not gonna lie when I saw the appearance of the Pillar of Autumn: It made SO much sense what they were fighting for. The wave of nostalgia just hitting you hard from how beautiful it was to see Pillar of Autumn escape. Good content man, glad you reacted to this as well.

The story of this Halo animation is set on Reach the team of Spartans in this are Spartan-IIIs like Noble Team (besides Jorge).
Sodaz used to do alot of amazing Warhammer 40k videos too, but he stopped doing those when he was kinda going to be hired by Games Workshop (the company that makes and owns Warhammer 40k) but Sodaz got screwed over by GW and to make matters worse toxic 40k fans started to attack and bully him online saying that he sold out to GW.
It got so bad to the point that he decided didn't want anything to do with Warhammer or anything 40k related ever again.
Hopefully halo fans or any fans of different franchises will treat him with better.

I feel like Sodaz is welcomed into the Halo community wholeheartedly. The state of Halo to many is kinda "iffy" atm, so anything is feasible tbh and IMO. Plus there isn't a whole lot of fan made projects for Halo, at least to my knowledge, in these recent times. Only other fan made stuff I've seen recently are fan made games and not really anything in other media. Well besides P+ Halo as an official thing....

The whole animation is pretty much a "side story" for Reach(plus the only other titled Halo video from 12 YEARS ago was an official trailer called "Remember Reach". So this may be a callback, since the title for this is basically "Halo-Remember"), through and through really. Sodaz is just showing us another "perspective," albeit being fan made. The biggest hints was the Corvettes glassing the city(which also shares the same mission name in Reach, "New Alexandria")in the same scene with the female Spartan that died. The other most obvious one is the ending with the MAC cannon shooting towards the Corvette, it suppose to be us or Noble 6 firing it during the last couple of missions. Lastly is the Pillar of Autumn leaving and having MC(though wearing his H2/3 armor instead of the Reach-esc CE armor like the one he had in Reach).
It's overall a "love letter" I would say IMO and Sodaz pretty much nailed it. Also to note, the "mounting hunter" is a feature for a good while now. 343 added or updated a skull into MCC called "Bandana" for all Halo's. The skull let's the user have unlimited ammo. Iirc there was a small update, though hidden made the player able to mount hunters, for Reach specifically. So 343 actually brought this cut feature into the game

don't gotta tell me twice haha been playing halo for 2 decades, i knew it was a reach love letter there was MANY reach references you pointed out the big ones, but honestly the earth model in the bigging was like a halo 3 reference i swear but didn't make sense in the long run but i understand why he did it i also damn yeah it was added like 6 months ago kinda wild i remember when it was just a cut feature

@@Nifty_Noob There are major references to the Fall of Reach as well. Pelican "Iron Fist" is a real Pelican that was sent to support Beta-Red, one of the largest Spartan-II fighting forces on Reach at the time. The Spartans, ODSTs, and small contingent of marines was part of group Gamma, which Iron Fist directed to an evac shelter 50 kilometers west, which SODAZ kept consistent.
The last we hear of Iron Fist was when it was making a mad dash to rescue the survivors of Beta-Red before glassing occurs. Whether the Pelican succeeds or not is unknown.

This story is 100% cannon in my brain. So many Spartans were lost when Reach fell…this team was one of them. While Noble was doin their thing, so was this team.

this story is a side story to noble team during the battle of reach, while noble team is completing their missions other fire teams such as this one was sent to evacuate civilians off world. when they radioed for a pick up and the pilots were going to beta red which is a call sign for a splinter of spartan-iis that were deployed at the time (also when the pilot gives his call sign as “iron fist” this is actually canon, and he was supposed to pick them up until 3 carriers came down and UNSC Majestic fired 6 mac rounds presumably killing beta red) so many call backs and references like how the odsts came to realize that they’re people just like them and not war machines, that scene when she’s on the table humanizes her and they feel a sense of sorrow, ah it just hits deep in the feels knowing whatever they do or however well they hold the line it’s a losing fight. A masterpiece through and through, infinitely better than the tv show and story telling of the last 3 games 343i has produced 😂

343 got the idea from when bungie was playtesting the game play mechanic for Reach. there are videos you can find on it and you can do it with the mod tools still. it came from reach but prolly more known from that film i suppose

this is canon imo. during reach when we're fighting through as our hyper lethal vector, all of this is happening in other area's of reach. And knowing some of the spartans got to see us take down a cruiser and give the autumn an escape vector is amazing. We gave our bodies to reach, and they will be remembered. Remember reach!

I have read all the books,
played all the games and watched all the animation/movies out there.

@Nifty Noob we haven't had a large scale meaningful halo battle in so long. I'd be fine with playing as a squad of spartan IV on zeta halo holding out with some marines as a firefight mode but noooo. Hell they could do it in a canyon like the hot gates from the 300 movie lol and have us defend against wave after wave of banished forces with us able to buy fortifications like ammo and cover. But nope. We're gonna get something crap

Again it’s nice to see an actual space battle happening where in reality the UNSC were just outmatched by the covenant in almost every way and was mostly through out maneuvering or out numbering the covenant by a factor of ten UNSC ships to a single covenant cruiser, not to mention the lack of shields meant that they were literal Tim cans floating in space, and again for the smallest of covenant warships required at least three max cannon rounds just to overload the covenants shields added the fact that covenant ships use plasma based weapons which had a nasty effect not just on the ships hull via thermal radiation, but also effected things like electronics in a given area due to a massive energy spike.

When people ask me why I tear up and cry at the end of Halo 3, Reach or ODST. I always ask did you ever tear up or cry during "saving private Ryan"?
Because if you can say you never felt anything during that movie then you can judge me.
Because "saving private Ryan" is just as fictional as halo, but for some reason, getting emotional over a movie is ok, but getting emotional over a video game is not.

@@Nifty_Noob for me H3 had the best story but honestly reach had one of if not the best forge worlds out of all of the halo games in terms of sheer variety of designs, gameplay and maps all the while being fairly limited in its weapons as well as vehicles compared to the other halo games but apart from that, reach had the best modding/ creative community out there and I do wish that halo tech gets a either a remastered version or they do something similar where again whilst playing as the iconic chief is fun and all, there are other alternatives for the halo universe like ODST and halo wars, but as I’ve grown older I find it much harder to enjoy the games I do dearly love, of course I still love halo much like any fan but with the changes of priority’s and interests and commitments makes it hard for me to enjoy halo games like I use to, then again I think that it’s just me being wishful and young again on my thirteenth Christmas when I opened up my first Xbox 360 and played halo anniversary for the first time. And I find that the new halo games aren’t as enjoyable as they use to be where I’ve basically dropped playing halo all together even the new one, because I just don’t have the time nor the love of staying awake until three in the mourning building a map with me and my brother all night long, and the only problem I ever had with halo reach was its small party size of sixteen players but apart from that I played reach all the way even past to the Xbox 1 but after halo 4 I’ve stopped playing all together, as for the new halo game, it feels shallow and empty and just another cash grab so to speak.

They were a part of the ORIGINAL noble fire team. noble 6 replaced them, this being a story about reach it was very fitting. these 2 spartans lost their lives sometime after the Covenant invasion of Concord. it is very fitting for a thumbnail cause i wanted a good high res shot to show off reach in a manor or highlighting this as a different story. just cause we got a lil event and the armor in infinite doesn't mean they are from infinite.

The Halo show had one of THE BEST fight scenes in Halo lmao. And, imo at least, THE best single-Spartan sequences. That long cut along the ridge with Chief moving throgh, cutting fools down, covering Marines as best he can, tanking hits for wounded and just... Advancing, unstoppable, is fucking astounding. And the final fight? God, Chief against the Brutes was BUTTER on POTATOES- The kineticism, the movements, the everything.

His Spartan-IIIs are a bit too slow and weak, they should all be double of all that, twice as fast, as strong and agile, and they should've all definitely survived, other than that it's an epic animation.
