To the people getting the blinking LED that wont go solid, there is no fix. Getting your remote replaced would be useless as the issue isnt with the remote. There is a little IC chip inside each of these remotes that are the exact same however different manufactures are using a different source to program the chip which is why some can be set to learn and some cant. The ones that cant simply have a generic version of the source without those features.

Thanks Jefferson this helped plenty, it's nice to be down to one remote again. I have a remote that looks exactly like yours but to get the solid red on the power button I had to hold the SET button for a few seconds, then it was just a matter of setting each button up (power, volume up/down, TV in) individually.
