Jon Finkel is the Wilt Chamberlain of Magic. Played in the early days of the game before there were many other good players and put up unbeatable numbers. Mad respect for this guy.
What a delight to have Ian and Tim as commentators... So sober and relevant all of their comments... Unlike Phil Dunfie, err, sorry, Marshall Sufclife and the others hehe
Can't we have these commentator's all the time? Can't stand listening to Randy and Rashad whenever they're commentating, they just end up being irritating.
Two of the world's best players, and notice how they aren't constantly shuffling their cards in their hands? So, tell me again how constant hand shuffling isn't just some sort of edgy fad and it provides a tactical advantage?
So while it doesn't literally bring an advantage it does help with how the normal brain works. Constantly moving cards allows you to stay more engaged with everything is happening. So for someone that often makes mistakes or gets loss in the sauce it could be helpful. That's why most people do it to stay engaged. Yet anyone saying if you do or don't do it is the difference of top 8 of a pt and not is an idiot.

He had like 6 top finishes after 2012, level of competition being lower in the earlier years are not why he has ridiculous numbers. He’s just the GOAT
such an amazing match between two of the worlds best. always fun to watch.

35:10 - great piece of commentary!

Am I the only one who is going to say this? If so, then may I please complain: Why did no one play Sultai!
It wasn't a good deck at the time

I agree to some extent. I like Randy, but I think both of them need to work on their commentary a bit more.
I'd prefer to sit beside Reid too, if I were Tim.
True, I was actually really happy with Ian's, and Tim's commentary though.
Andrew Jetter To be honest, I was just joking about the Reid thing because Tim said "R&D member Rei- Uh Ian Duke" at 0:06.
For sure. It is nice to see them have some quality commentary for this though. It's usually such garbage.
can i find willy edels decklist somewhere online?
Don't think it's much different than the other Abzan midrange decks?
i found it. i wanted to look at the exact manabase. there are a lot of differences.
