    I not quite sure about this, but the instant you make the pro tour, you shuffle 40x as much as normal. You know, to show the other players you're that good.

    Grafdigger's Cage doesn't effect living end, the creatures enter from exile

    • @DaftMANIA
      @DaftMANIA 9 років тому

      Malefic Kuriboh Why not? The cards get exiled first, then cast. So you can cascade into living end with a cage in play

    • @Gavolak
      @Gavolak 9 років тому

      +Malefic Kuriboh I do believe that cascade exiles cards from the top of your library until you hit a valid target. Then you may cast that target without paying the cost. So living end will come in from exile, not the yard.

    At around 11:48 where they wonder what usage Spellskite has against Bloom, I'm pretty sure Spellskite can re-direct the activated ability of Slayers' Stronghold to itself (+2/+0, vigilance and haste), which is quite the speed bump for Primeval Titan's land fetching.

    Tasigur is just nuts, man. How often does a just-printed card dive straight into Modern and even Legacy? Very nice.

      Seems to be getting more and more common...treasure cruise, dig through etime, deathrite shaman etc

      farmerdragonball Very true. I think Wizards went a long time without tossing the old formats these types of bones...I'm loving it, because the more viable formats a card fits into, the better the value of the packs I'm buying and singles I'm collecting. Very nice.

    wasn't the suspended Living End about to destroy all the creatures that got resurrected and resurrect the ones that got destroyed??

    • @fegilious
      @fegilious 9 років тому

      you can choose not to cast a suspended spell

      Sam Miller "At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a time counter. When the last is removed, cast it without paying its mana cost. It has haste."
      That's taken from the oracle text of Durkwood Baloth. Doesn't look like a "may" to me.

      As the second triggered ability resolves, you must cast the card if able. Timing restrictions based on the card's type are ignored.
      Taken from the Gatherer entry on Living End. You can choose to NOT cast the spell.

    • @howiseverythingtaken
      @howiseverythingtaken 9 років тому +3

      MSNking14 I'm not going to claim certainty on this, but I don't see how to interpret "you must cast the card if able" as a "may" effect. "Must" is a pretty strong word...

    • @fma0420
      @fma0420 9 років тому +3

      MSNking14 When the last time counter is removed, you must cast the spell if able. It's is not optional. You have to cast it, and you must do so without paying its cost. If you can't cast it, then the card stays exiled with zero time counters.

    Anyone know what the brand of sleeves Ichikawa is using.

    Couldn't Lombardi (at 15:29) have sacrificed his Cursecatcher to counter his own copied Pact unless he (Lombardi) paid 1, allowing him to not pay 1 and countering the spell? He'd live another turn since countering his own spell would stop the trigger from his end. And I can't tell if Black had any black-producing lands but couldn't that have won Lombardi the game?

    • @Miezekilla
      @Miezekilla 9 років тому

      Bob Dole
      Yes, But he still has to pay the upkeep cost since he did cast it (regardless of it getting countered)

    • @Moersfreak
      @Moersfreak 9 років тому +2

      Miezekilla no, you only have to pay if the spell resolves, since the clause is written as part of the effect of the card. the problem with saccing cursecatcher is probably that the titan has trample, and the toughness is needed (I'm not sure, haven't done the math, but would be reasonable^^) also, black probably cast the pact post-combat, so all the cursecatchers would be dead

    • @MidnaMistfire
      @MidnaMistfire 7 років тому

      Year late reply FTW, but his spellskite died to slaughter pact (removing 4 toughness, making titan trample over for 4) he was at 5, so yea, the cursecathers toughness was needed. He should have used his lord to block perhaps, but that would garantee in a complete boardwipe, so not sure if that was such a good idea.

    Bonneau must have spent alot of money on his deck, it being all foils and what-not. God I wish I could afford to do that lol

    • @1KevinsFamousChili1
      @1KevinsFamousChili1 9 років тому +2

      +allthingsMTG most foil version of cards in living end are only $2-$3 so it actually wouldn't be a whole lot more to foil the bulk of the deck. Those foil verdants and what not would definitely take a bite out of you though

    • @sadnessofafrica
      @sadnessofafrica 9 років тому +2

      i think it was correct since he already had dismember for the twin since he didn't want to start taking 4 per turn

    • @Tymon0000
      @Tymon0000 9 років тому

      Totally not Nik I think he should play more defensive. He had 2 Blinkmoths which were not good finishers at this point. Have in mind u can block a Pestermite with a Blinkmoth, then use both Blinkmoths' ability to add +1/+1 two times to it. You can have a 3/3 Nexus to block Pestermite. I know letting opp put his AotG would kill that Nexus. It's always better to use remove spells in response because u get 2 for 1 and not die to kiki.

      Tymon0000
      You could do that, if he planned on not attacking. But late game favors splinter twin. The more draw steps splinter twin has, the more likely splinter twin will rip the combo. He had to race; which means attacking every turn. When the pestermite came down, they were at equal life totals. That means, losing the race. Had to be answered. His play was correct.
