Wow, those two females are so red!! I would have sworn they were males! Thanks for posting. Mine just had a huge spawn- hope I get some females like those you shared! Looking forward to your progress. Hope to collaborate one day!
Interesting... Have you ever thought about keeping Yellowfin Shiners? I think they're native to your area, while you probably couldn't legally sell them or their off spring they'd be nice in a display/personal aquarium. (fun fact it's actually pretty shady how rainbow shiners even ended up in the aquarium trade)
How did you get the blue shiners from the red shiners? That's pretty cool looking to have both colors in 1 tank That's what I would like in my 75 gal aquarium for looks.
How long have they lived for you? I see online a lifespan of 2 years but find that hard to believe. Edit: Also how would I get in contact with you to get some of the ones you have?
Hey man. I gotta huge project I’m bout get craccen any day. Shit my mom is even in Alabama right now as I type going bacc to the area she’s seen them spawning before, because when I told her I was starting a new project and showed her pictures she said” I’ve seen those before!!!” “I’ll try to catch some for you” so hopefully I can get a bunch of the solid blue fins and and that chunky red body and them blue “burns I call them” but don’t get it twisted selective breeding is always the move but definitely since I have a way to get wild ones that are striking beautiful I’m pretty sure I can start a small business off these and nano aquariums set up like small table ponds. I got some pretty solid ideas and I’m 23 and ima go so hard tryna get something successful started. Maybe we can make trades soon
And I have an importer here in co, that has hundreds of them so all comes fail, I’ll just go buy my stock, I have so many aquariums and equipment from my dads store as a kid
@@WhiteCloudDynasty yes I bought a group of 6 last year and they bred for me but the eggs were not fertile and after that they started to die off so I been looking for them ever since and they seem to go fast once they are up for sale

You got a point 👉 I just got 6 shiners from my LFS he doesn't know what they are I have them a week so far they are small no color on them
Superb
Very informative. If they aren’t coloring up fast enough, you might try increasing the photo period.
I have try that, some family are just super slow
Very beautiful
Which line do I have? Red or blue? I’m moving so got rid of most of my fish but I kept everything I got from you. I truest treasure them.
These are the blue line

I'm sure with all this color they don't survive long in the wild
@@WhiteCloudDynasty That's a very good point, and that is good information to hear about the longevity of them.

Sweet! Be careful selling wild stock fish, some state have very strict law. I hope all goes well for you.
Are you currently selling rainbow shiners?
@tprav I have some left but it's too hot to ship
Aren't they Native to North America? Are they hard to breed?
Native to mostly Alabama but some in Georgia and Tennessee.
They are native, and no they aren't hard to breed.
