It's an easy game, but back in the day, it really cost me a lot of work to beat the game and half the bosses. Also, one of the best games ever.
***** Well, I consider it one of the easiest but most fun Mario platformers. They DID make it too easy by making the cape and blue Yoshi overpowered, but the fun factor compensated for that.
kaizoisevil Exactly, perhaps more worlds (1 or 2 extra kingdoms) with a harder difficulty would be even better.
Still, the game is one of the best in gaming history as it is, all the opposite to Super Mario Bros 1 and Lost Levels, which basically make you wanna pull your hair out for being so difficult. And I rather play easy or normal games, than hard impossible games.

I agree that SMB1 and Lost Levels were frustrating. The jump physics in those games was BS. Landing on a 1 tile wide platform was frustrating. Landing on a 1 tile wide platform in Super Mario World is easy.
+kaizoisevil As it is easy in 2 & 3. Also, the powers are great, in 3, besides the Fire Flower, you have the Leaf Tail, the Tanooki, Hammer and Frog Suits, and even Kuribo Shoe in one level. In World, the Cape and Yoshi in 4 colors which give the game a lot of variety.
+kaizoisevil except GETTING a blue yoshi is easier said than done but on everything else (apart Mario world being an easy game I agree.😏

Being bored in 98' and being able to play this in 2002-2007 was the best. I was so happy to play my Super Nintendo and I remember how I did my best when I played it too.

I like how Bowser’s koopa clown car gets angry and sad
They sound funny when gets hit by Mario, it's like they tried to say "ouch".
Dude we don't even get to see what they do, you kill them too fast
+Minick 4 been a while. I usually let the bosses do their unique stuff before beating them up.
They don't really do much.
Unlike Super Mario Bros 3, they don't have the wands to attack you with.
Iggy & Larry just balance on that board over lava.
Morton & Roy climb the wall, run along the ceiling & then drop down to try & hit you.
Lemmy & Wendy just pop out of pipes using 2 decoys (if you hit them, it just makes a wrong 1 sound effect)
Ludwig stands out as he breathes fire, just rolls around in shell form & then jumps at you.
Reznors just breathe fireballs at you & somehow, the floor breaks apart.
In short, their attacks are very easily avoidable & I pretty much always escape with no damage.
Been playing this game since I was 7.

13 boss battles? That's half of how many are in SMB3! They totally could've had this the game to bring back Boom-Boom instead of waiting for NSMBWU.
Differences on placement of the Koopalings from Super Mario Bros 3, Larry swapped with Ludwig and Ludwig Swapped with Iggy. Wendy O and Lemmy swapped places. Morton Jr. and Roy stayed in the same spot

OK, I've played and beaten this game twice, but I keep forgetting how the Koopalings look here, since I've played Super Mario Bros. 3 more and am extremely familiar with their permanent looks starting from new Super Mario Bros. Wii (actually, main reason I watched this video was to remember how they looked in this game)
Since when did Morton have a green shell, and Ludwig have a yellow shell?
I thought it was usually, Larry starts out green but becomes blue, Iggy's the exact opposite, Lemmy starts out green but becomes orange, Ludwig starts out teal but becomes dark blue, Wendy starts out red but becomes pink, Morton is always gray, Roy is always purple
I Still play these games sometimes,I Think its more of the memories and feelings that it brings.Those who didn't play it when they were younger wouldn't understand i guess lol and its a really nice song u can actually dance to it =O)

This is by far, one of the best games ever made, but the boss battles were a little too easy.

DakariKingMykan In the Game Boy Advanced version, you will not even see the bottom of the pipes so it doesn't happen at all. Lemmy, Larry, Wendy and Iggy also growl when they die.
yes I remember that... but still, I much prefer the Snes version... and I am so relieved we found a way to replay Castles and fortresses, they're the best levels

DAMN! It's been years since I played this game cause my SNES has got sold and forgot what the bosses were like. They have the rhinos on the New SMB N3DS and that's it. All the other bosses are Kooplings from like SMB3 who weren't that hard to beat. A 5-year-old could beat that game. WHY WON'T NINTENDO GIVE US MORE CHALLENGING BOSSES IF THEY GONNA BRING BACK THE CLASSIC SIDE SCROLLER!?

LOL it seems like in this game you actually kill the Koopalings instead of just defeating them, but they came back in a bunch of other games.
That's because Bowser has the power to bring his minions back to life. How many times does Petey Piranha die and come back? We even see Bowser Jr. revive Bowser onscreen in New Super Mario Bros. Of course, I say New Super Mario Bros. Wii is chronologically last because Bowser, Bowser Jr., and all Koopalings got crushed by a falling castle, and Kamek fell into lava, so without any of them left to revive the others, they stay dead

You must be thinking of a different game. New Super Mario Bros. 2 or New Super Mario Bros. U showed them in the final scene, in which they survive, but New Super Mario Bros. Wii's final, postcredits scene show the castle falling on them
