We can also assume that the "man-melons" have some sort of mind altering affect that causes people to want to eat them, why else would you eat watermelon you know for a fact to have once been your friend? this means that more and more people will eat the melon, be destroyed, and be eaten. What makes this worse is that they will become watermelon as well, most likely leading to their destruction. We can also assume that the "man-melons" have some sort of mind altering affect that causes people to want to eat them, why else would you eat watermelon you know for a fact to have once been your friend? this means that more and more people will eat the melon, be destroyed, and be eaten. The growth of this melon plague will be exponential and will likely lead to the death of the human race, and possibly all multicellular animal life.

I legit had nightmares of this before
the fact that the kid literally turned into a watermelon and none of the kids cared or even looked at him like he is weird kind of tells me this is a common problem in this world. it kind of worries me the other kids literally saw their friend turn into a watermelon, didn't care, didn't ask where a random watermelon came from, and just ate his corpse without any remorse is kind of scary. also what would it feel like to be slowly turned into a watermelon, just your organs growing and turning into plants and eventually your brain would be completley transformed and you would die. also i know this story about a guy who was eating peas and a pea went into his lung and grew inside of it
