Karolyn! This video just saved my night. I set up my new airbrush to color the galaxy/alien cake due for delivery tomorrow. It stopped working 2 minutes after we started. I was panicking and I remembered I had just seen your fondant galaxy video. I've never covered a cake in fondant but I wasn't sure what else to do. I drug (dragged? Lol) my fondant out and went to look for that video and found this one instead....my cake came out perfectly. Thank you so much!

Okay so this is so cool even though I got a little anxiety when you covered the whole cake in black BC….I’ve seen this method done a lot with that mirror glaze stuff and was never eager to even attempt it…but this is way easier…Super Cool ❤️❤️❤️

I only use the fan when I bake in deep pans like bundt pans. Otherwise, I prefer not to use the fan for my cakes that are baked in regular round / square cake pans.
Nope! Once the cake is frosted with buttercream, it seals it and protects it from drying out. I don't ever refrigerate a cake that isn't iced with buttercream.

how long will a decorated cake be in your fridge without the frosting or anything cracking?
They are in there fully decorated anywhere between 1-5 days with no issues😊

It was cold, I put the color Buttercream on and put it back in the fridge for an hour, then put the black Buttercream on.

Chocolate buttercream is brown, so you would have to dye it black. And the blue, pink and purple would have to be vanilla!

Yes!! The key is getting the icing underneath solid before adding the other layers so they don’t blend together.

You can it the other way if you prefer! The color may drag across the black when you're using the scraper, so it may have a different look!
can i use swiss buttercream? American buttercream is horribly sweet i dont eat it
I'm sure you can, just make sure the icing is cold and hard before you add the dark layer of icing to scrape off.

If you put the black icing on first then put the colors on then you don't have to put that on like that it's a lot easier
That's another option as well! I've done it that way also, but didn't like how much the color spread, so I prefer it this way. But either way works!
