    As always, thank you for these great lessons. I like it when they make a lot of sense. logical ways to approach these challenges.

    Dear Joy, this video really helps. It's a little bit sharp when my ground daughter plays scales one whole step down from 4th to 3rd finger and the 4th finger is not stable as well. I will use your tip # 1 for her to practice to find the 4th and 3rd fingers. And you also opened my mind to have a structure for practicing using 3rd finger to find 4th crossing string such as using 3rd on G (D) to find 4th on E (B) which is a bit flat. Thank you so much.

    The introduction to the positions textbook by Harvey S Whistler provides many different etudes directly designed to study 3rd and 5th position

    Thank you very much Joy, do you have any thoughts on etude studies by Wohlfart?

      You're welcome Yacoub. Wohlfahrt has many wonderful technical etude piece focusing on LH frame as well as bow control. Here is a video about Wohlfahrt. Happy practising Yacoub! ua-cam.com/video/WJIXQRmLhis/v-deo.html

    Hi! Thank you for your good videos, they are really helpful!
    I was just wondering if you would know why does the muscle between spine and shoulder blade becomes sore when i play violin.
    I play 3-5 hours a day and first the pain started like after 2 hours. But now it starts already after 30min of playing. The pain is pungent and blistering. Is this kind of a normal or do I have a bad playing position example?

      Dear Jenna, in general when experiencing a pain, it is very important to take small breaks to give a relief to the muscles. Here is a video which might be helpful to you. I wish you all the best and I hope you can find a solution soon. ua-cam.com/video/IV-n_ZKDNDg/v-deo.html

    Can I ask, why you tend your wrist so much, when playing normal fourth? :) thanks

    • @JoyLeeViolin
      @JoyLeeViolin  2 роки тому +1

      Dear Momo, all questions are valuable and welcome. LH adjusts to make sure the 4th finger can reach the string in a relaxed way which might look like bending, but I am actually bringing LH toward the 4th finger to support the 4th finger. Happy practising Momo!

      @@JoyLeeViolin thank you very much! Do you also do this, when playing fast?

    • @JoyLeeViolin
      @JoyLeeViolin  2 роки тому +1

      Dear Momo, you're most welcome and yes, the concept of a proper, reliable LH frame is the same in any tempo, however there might be a slight change for a fine adjustment depending on the tempo. Happy practising!

      @@JoyLeeViolin thank you! :D I got one new question now left: what is the disadvantage of leaving the hand all the time in this position as you do for the fourth?
      Sorry, I am big thinker, sometimes for my disadvantage, but I am curiuos. :)
      Happy practicing!

      Dear Momo, when one leaves all fingers on the fingerboard, or the entire LH in one position unchanged, this could limit the flexibility of LH. Happy practising!
