I sincerely did not find it amusing or nice how she made it linger in front of the camera for show like that, as the bird was clearly traumatised enough.

What are you even fighting for in this situation? I hate to break it to you but that bird has probably been through scarier shit than a hand and a camera.
As someone who volunteers at a wildlife rescue center and has handled many birds I can say you did a great job of being gentle with it and the brief moment you held it wouldn’t have been enough to cause excessive stress. Yes, being handled stressed it a bit; but no more than me moving orphaned ducklings to a different container so we can clean the enclosure. You kept the handling brief and released it quickly. You handled the situation exactly how people who regularly rescue wildlife would.
Dope, another wildlife rescue volunteer. I agree, she handled it calmly and quickly enough, and little differently than a professional would if they were in the same situation. Wasn't unnecessarily rough with it, and thank god, set it down in the grass rather than trying to toss it into the air to fly, as I've seen others do before. In fact, I'm surprised she was so calm and steady when trying to fish it out of the tank. Smaller birds can be so quick and slippery, they're harder to snag out of a cage than people might realize lol. Of course the poor thing was tired and stressed after being trapped in a tank for several hours, and being picked up wouldn't help in that regard, but it clearly couldn't figure out how to get out on its own. She was firm but gentle, calm, and didn't hold into it longer than was necessary. Great example of how you should handle the situation, I believe.
@@howling_starr I figured anyone else familiar with rescuing animals would know she did well, but it seems a lot of people were making a fuss about how long she held it. Heck, some rescuers would have held it longer while checking for injuries. Most of my experience with birds is with orphaned ducklings, but I've also helped a few trapped birds in my day as well, so it gives me a frame of reference for how she handled it. I had one get into my Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo some years back - 2002. I was going to open the cargo door, but I always wanted to hold one of those mockingbirds. I went to the left rear passenger door and let the back seat down and gently entered and slowly wrapped my hand around his body and he did not struggle or flutter around or even peck at me. I got it out and with my other hand I used my pinky finger to gently rub his head alittle bit. I was going to get a cup of water for the bird, but I opened my hand and the bird chirped and flew away. I wanted someone to get a picture of me with that bird. But I was glad to have help get it out so it could fly and be free.
Not always? In the past, when you could look through one window into my grandmother's house, and see the outside through the second, the birds would crash into them after they were just cleaned.
@@okamishelli387 Again, they can see it but have no concept of it. My theory is that they probably thought it was water and went straight at it, before picking up their shattered bones and broken dreams.
@@okamishelli387 its prettt easy, not very clean glass can be seen like this tank. They just dont understand it. But some humans who very much know what glass is still run into cleaned glass. Catch all the Blue jays you want, but it’s a sin to catch a mockingbird. Note: This is a reference to “To Kill a Mockingbird” for those who didn’t read the novel and will think I’m promoting animal cruelty.
Not sure how someone will mix up sins with animal cruelty. Like if these people were watching a video in a room of someone catching a mockingbird and you say: "Catch all the Blue jays you want, but it's a sin to catch a mockingbird.", Its a very unlikely chance that someone will just straight-up charge his face like a demoknight into your face screamin: " *OH MAG FRAKING GOD ITS NOT ANIMAL ABUSE ITS SHE NPICKED YGHER UP NCIE ANDF GENTLY AND ACALLED IT CUTE DONT YOU KNOWI ANYTHIUNG ABOUT ANYOJEWHJDBYEFGBUDHFYAGTAHSDGASUY (ded lmao)*
I had to read the book for my freshman year of high school , and I really hated it. Not the book in general, it was a alright book, I just personally dislike reading books in general
+GypsyChickens Yeah. some people can really be dumb. I don't know how to hold a bird, but I know you did it very gently, so even if you did it wrong, you didn't hurt it.
Ben The Kitty I disagree with you. From the way the bird's eyes are and how the beak is open, it is clearly scared for it's life. Btw , this is not how you hold a bird, by doing this, you could damage it's lungs or worst since it is so small. Also, to the author(or whatever); If you get stuck in a huge box and have no Idea what is gonna happen next, I'm sure a normal person would panic and thrash around instead of looking for a sensible way out, so don't call the bird ritarded.
Woman: *picks him up and out of the cage* Bird: *jaw drops* Oh my god how did you do that?? do you know how long I've bee- I mean one second I was.. and then another I wa- I- I can't believe dis!
AW, why you gotta ruin the fun? Most people know that anyway, they just find the coincidence funny. Yes, the bird is exhausted from trying to escape, terrified that he might become lunch, and probably very hungry after trapping himself, but he is perfectly fine, I promise you. The fun is not at the expense of the bird since he survived his mishap with breaking into a closed tank XD.
TheChangeling13 because it's not fun, or funny, and there are actually quite a bit of people who don't know. The kind of people who think a dog is "smiling" when they show their teeth or have a tense face.. not saying no one knows of course but I have seen a lot of people who don't understand that animals are different that is. Honestly they didn't have to pick up either, they could have left I open so the bird could do it on its own time. Would have been less stressful for it. But oh well.

Mockingbird have developed clever technique to lay eggs in other birds nests which involves baiting, luring out the other bird but here it managed to get trapped so easily.
Why does this have so many downvotes?? It's basically an animal rescue video, even if the poster was kind of at fault for the birb getting trapped in the first place. Except not really because what the hell, who expects that?? XD

Hush little baby don't say a word
Mama's gonna catch you a mocking bird
And no way in HELL I'm giving it to you
You know, I was just about to post that part of the lyrics as well.
Omg that's so nostalgic my mam used to sing that to me
The birds like ''how'd you catch me"😂😂😂
If you like this video !!! I found this video of a MOCKINGBIRD feeding babies thats NOT HERS. It’s so amazing !! ua-cam.com/video/cwlAyq34JyI/v-deo.html
"Birds can't see glass". They can see the glass just fine. They just don't understand it.
Could I ask for a source? Sorry if that sounds rude, I just heard/read different
@@okamishelli387 its prettt easy, not very clean glass can be seen like this tank. They just dont understand it. But some humans who very much know what glass is still run into cleaned glass. So while birds may see glass like this if its just cleaned their is a possibility as with humans they cant see it
Oh, I didn't think about that thanks
1:36 the bird like "are you mocking me"

Catch all the Blue jays you want, but it’s a sin to catch a mockingbird.
Note: This is a reference to “To Kill a Mockingbird” for those who didn’t read the novel and will think I’m promoting animal cruelty.
I love that book
ERIKA FERNANDA PENA BETANCOURT I know. I was just joking from the title.
I love that book omg
I love how gently you held the bird. And that you didn't try to keep it like most people would've.
heh, I have like 500 people yelling at me almost every day "THATS NOT HOW YOU HOLD A BIRD YOU #$*@^#$!!@"
+GypsyChickens
Yeah. some people can really be dumb. I don't know how to hold a bird, but I know you did it very gently, so even if you did it wrong, you didn't hurt it.
Bless O_O
Ben The Kitty Its the other way around. Most ppl dont want a wild animal.
Finally I found this after 5 years
That was cute💖🤗

Woman: *picks him up and out of the cage*
Bird: *jaw drops* Oh my god how did you do that?? do you know how long I've bee- I mean one second I was.. and then another I wa- I- I can't believe dis!
Addison Kramlich - Birds do not have jaws last time I checked. They have beaks.
Addison Kramlich Can we stop anthropomorphizing? The bird is doing it because it's exhausted and terrified of the person picking it up.
Have you ever tried getting the fuck over it Jones hahahaha there's literally no harm done.
His face. When you pick him up :O
Wow, thanks for showing us how Petyr Baelish looks like when he's drunk

"Ooh, it's not you that's got me, IT'S.... Me that's got me..."
*Suchomimus* *Tenerensis* *underrated comment*
Daddy’s gonna buy you a mockingbird…
The birds face is like “holy shit IM FLYING WITHOUT FLYING!”
Mockingbird have developed clever technique to lay eggs in other birds nests which involves baiting, luring out the other bird but here it managed to get trapped so easily.
Cool fact
Rostislav I thought that was cuckoo birds and cowbirds, and the mocking Jay is actually the bird that gets its nest taken over by other birds
Thats Cuckoos
nicky rin a mocking Jay isn't a real bird.... that's a thing from hunger games...
Huntz 711 oh yeah, I accidentally wrote mocking jay, I meant mockingbird, my bad
Why does this have so many downvotes?? It's basically an animal rescue video, even if the poster was kind of at fault for the birb getting trapped in the first place. Except not really because what the hell, who expects that?? XD
Eskir right?
I
Years ago my family found a dead bird stuck in our garage during summer. Died of heat stroke.
I guess our garage shouldn't have been there, huh?
Wrong website, this is youtube not reddit.
@@zachanikwano What.

People aren't comfortable with the fact she could have just left the top open and let the bird fly off on its own.
Her: Hello mocking bird
The bird: pogging
one minute the bird is convinced he's in a simulation, the next just regular base reality
