Hey, animal rescuer here (I mainly rescue birds). I just want to warn everyone not to replicate the actions shown in the video. Why? Seagulls are prey animals, which means that they get really frightened when you catch it. If you’re wondering why the gulls are comfortable getting close with him, it’s because they are used to human interaction. Everyday, people give the gulls food scraps. This desensitizes the birds and makes the birds feel comfortable enough to approach you. This makes the birds susceptible to dangerous acts performed by people who don’t have good intentions. Even if the bird is desensitized (properly called habituation), if you catch it (it’s still a prey animal, remember), the bird’s body will produce a lot of adrenaline. This might not kill them immediately, but it could damage its heart in the long run, even if you only hold it for a few minutes. Also, if you catch the bird in a wrong way, you can severely injure the bird. Birds have delicate bones, and it’s very easy to break them. In addition, it’s illegal in most places to catch or harm a seagull. Seagulls are migratory birds after all and most migratory birds are protected. Remember that seagulls are just like any other birds. They deserve love and respect too. If you do not want a giant dude to catch you, then leave the birds alone. Seagulls only steal food because they are hungry (they are only comfortable enough because they have been desensitized). If everyone refuses to give the seagulls scraps (and try not to let them steal), it will force the seagulls to find food somewhere else, and eventually they will stop bothering you (and others) as much as before! If you have participated in these acts, but you did not know that it would potentially harm them, then it’s no shame at all! Forgive yourself, move on, and don’t do it anymore. Have a good day! -Frodo 🕊️

Seagulls are a dual predator-prey animal. So naturally, their responses to being caught and handled against their will is gonna consist of any of the following: Clawing, biting, or defecating. It doesn't want to be eaten and will do just about anything it can to get away. And this isn't a trait distinctive to seagulls, either. Those are bigger than these and those beaks are sharp and strong! He only bit me once but it bled immediately and was it was purple for 2 weeks.
I almost got clapped by a pelican kind of stuck in a bush awhile back. Don't think they have very sharp beaks though, and the thing is so long they probably don't have much strength at the tip. Quite a bit of momentum when they snap it closed based on the sound.
The yelp squawk it made when the man caught it, i have never a seagul cry like that before😢mustve been terrified, but still defiant. Seeing it seize his finger in its beak, tells you that it will do whatever it takes to free itself, its merely waiting for you to be distracted, and then wrangle out of your grasp. Dont try this anyone, please. Get your face too close to it, and im sure it would happily pluck your eye out if it thought it would help it get free. Seagulls are absolutely vicious, and a captured one knows no chill. Ive seen bald eagles rehabbed in captivity that are more docile.

Seagulls are prey animals, which means that they get really frightened when you catch it. The Government doesn't want you to know this but the seagulls on the beach are free.
I wonder how many people say this is animal abuse😂 I do not view this as abuse at all, abuse would be very different.
other then him not really putting his hands around the birds wings, i dont really see anything wrong either. 😂
@@ThetreeDraggonExactly tho people out there may consider this animal abuse somehow lol
@@coltconnorproductions1016doesn’t it cause heart attacks?
@@coltconnorproductions1016i mean, they have hollow bones which helps them fly.
So that explains it. The serrated part of the beak when it's holding your finger. A finger got cut by a sea gull when I was feeding one as a kid.
the other seagulls be like *BROOO WTF THEY CAUGHT HENRY NOW WE GOTTA SCRAM BEFORE THEY GET ME*
I don't know why but I laugh real hard when he said ow ouchy 😂
Welp, that seagull's gonna have one hell of a story to tell at the family reunion
They're free, no one can stop you.
Exactly.
You got him, he got you back 2:20
Those grey speckles on its head are its winter plumage. They disappear in the summer.
Interesting, I didn’t know they’re a seasonal color changer
oooh those buggers can BITE. I have seen my fair share of gulls as a wildlife rehab volunteer. I still have a scar on my arm from a great black-backed gull.
Aaaaand I'm afraid of gulls now
Did really well to catch one! I would not want to be bit by one though
To be fair I would be terrified if some guy picked me up that’s 3 times my size cute 3:06
I know people basically think of them as sky rats but I think they're kinda pretty
Its almost like the seagull doesn't like being birdnapped
It's dinner time.
That's a beautiful beach wherever it is.
It's the calm, "ouch, ouch, ouchie," for me, lol.
National Geographic wants to know your location.
We have SO many in the UK that they are not very popular with all the mess everywhere but, they are smart opportunists!
The reason he might have pooped on you is because you damaged his organs, birds especially seagulls arent that strong
bro the seagull wasnt afraid, it was annoyed like when will human let me go and stand near the beach.
I could never do something like that
Human:let go of my finger.
Seagull:no
Human: UNCLE UNCLE UNCLE ...
Seagle: now let me go. Enjoy your pirced finger, oh and another thing i was diagnosed with rabies 😭
I'm glad the seagull is not harmed and let go free but he must be so stressed. Although he did look kind of chilled :-)
He learned not to accept food from strangers lol
@@thecreaturescorner539 :-)
Not as stressed as conservation departments claim them to be, these birds steal food from people's hands.
A bit stress, but he looks more piss than anything
A seagull’s life is tough
I love how he flew straight to the ocean like “ugh! I gotta wash his human off of me!”
*Sea gull has beautifull eyes.* 👁
Seagull has been equipped
Forget holding a duck, this guy's holding a damn seagull!
"Please let go of my finger, pretty, pretty please?"
Gull: Imma ruin your whole hand's career if you don't let go of me, so you can just drop any notion you have of plea bargaining for your finger.
This is cruel. Contrary to what others are posting here, this is not cool or respectful. It's cruel. Harassing and bothering a wild animal by preventing it from engaging in its natural behavior and forcibly confining it for 2 minutes is cruel. The seagull is clearly struggling and fearful. It's not having fun. You wouldn't like it if someone did the same thing to you.
LOL the eyes of the gull is so cute
some birdz are just evil
Eh?
Imagine looking at some dude at the beach with his phone in the face of some random bird he grabbed for social media clout. Leave nature alone.
That is one angry seagull.
I could just imagine the bird thinking '**** you ya bastaaaaarrrrrrrdd.....' *flies away
Do not mimic what this person does.
