I just discovered this wonderful video. The singing is superb and the staging is perfect. The woman who plays the lead - and ALL the cast members - sing beautifully. I know DEAR WORLD is considered a "problematic" show - but I think I would only see what is good about it if I were to see a good production of the play - such as this one is. I notice that THE SPRING OF NEXT YEAR seems to be replaced by another song that the villains sing at a later point in the show. For me, that's too bad because I think that THE SPRING OF NEXT YEAR is a very funny, delightful, and effective song. I DO wish that Justin R. would give us a little more information about this production.

In what way is it problematic? I saw the Encores production of it just a couple weeks ago and it’s a wonderful musical
@@Bend818 I enjoyed Encores production too - they seemed to have worked out any problematic elements quite well. Definitely a wonderful musical.
the show has a lovely score..but it will never really work...just listen to the obc and make up your own show in your mind😉
Cast?
It was in Southern California in Orange County. Newport Theatre.
Justin R That doesn’t answer my question... I mean, who was in it and who were they playing?
@@fergusmurray1828 Well I was. You will have to tell me the character and I will try to remember. It has been a long time :)
Justin R 😂😂😂 Makes sense. Countess Aurelia?
@@fergusmurray1828 Her name is Lisa Geary, I think :)
