- The UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees, has been sued in the New York Federal Court by Israelis who accused it of aiding and abetting the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel. The complaint was filed in the US District Court for Manhattan, and alleges that the Agency spent more than a decade helping Hamas build its terror infrastructure, and personnel needed to carry out the attack. Some of the plaintiffs include former hostages, survivors and families of those killed by Hamas.

AS per lawsuit, for the past many years around $20 million every month have been transferred by UNRWA to local bank in Gaza to be distributed to Palestinians not in local currency but in US $ cash. The question is why not in local currency since the US $ cash cannot be used in Gaza? The Palestinians have to go to the Hamas-controlled local banks to exchange the US $ cash to local currency less 15% bank service charge. This 15% in US $ cash is then used by Hamas to buy missiles and weapon-related hardwares from the blackmarket. US $ cash has no paper trail and used in blackmarket and smuggling transaction. Is UNRWA guilty of aiding Hamas in its procurement of missiles and other weapons and in the construction of tunnels by distributing US $ cash to Palestinians?
