I am both. I can't sleep anymore, and I can't read anymore either. My sight is horrible! Used to be 20/20 most of my life. I had been a voracious reader, and my eyesight deteriorated. I can't sing anymore because my vocal chords were damaged. I couldn't dance because my equilibrium was affected too. I'm grateful for any help.
@@margaretcortes9809 oh my! I'm so sorry. Hopefully some joy can still be found in life. I'm glad to have you here and you are wonderful. Just know that
Haven’t read this book from cover to finish since I was a kid. Everytime you premiere another chapter of your rendition it makes me feel like that kid again. Thank you for helping me get my sleep schedule back, love your work.
I wanted to actually listen to a good part of it, but I fell asleep after the first three paragraphs! Amazing! I couldn't get enough of it when I was about 30+. I think it's the pace of the telling. Wonderful!
haha that's wonderful that it was so effective. I'm glad you got some good sleep and Hopefully you'll make it to the end soon. Thank you for listening.
Thank you so much for your amazing content. I discovered your channel today and I am already addicted! I love the way you read the stories, and I truly think you deserve more followers. Keep up the fantastic work!
Omg you are doing SUCH an incredible job with the voices! I could actually tell that there was a subtle difference between Gandalf and Gandalf's mimicry of the trolls but also that he sounded very much like the trolls without losing the Gandalf-ness in his voice✨✨ If I could perhaps offer one suggestion? Maybe cut the pleasant medieval music during scenes involving fights so that the listener could align themselves with the serious tone of the book. I found myself sometimes spacing out and listening to the music, forgetting about the peril Bilbo and the dwarves were in lol But such a great job overall✨💜💜
@@CluckyTheUnicorn oh thank you so much! I'm glad the subtle changes to the character were caught. You have a very good ear. I will definitely consider something about the music. Maybe lowering it during certain points? It is quite a challenge having a book with so many action scenes be turned into stories for sleep but here we were. Thank you again for listening and for your kind words 🙏
@@johnssleepstories that's true~ yes I think lowering it at certain points sounds like a great idea✨ Either way, can't wait to get to the other chapters💜
Reminds me of listening to books on tape as a kid. Kenny's Window and Anthony Quale's reading The King of the Golden River were two of my faves, but there were so many others. Good work,. appreciate it.
Thanks for continuing this tale . Don't know if you know it or not; National Lampoon published a parody called " Bored of The Rings. ! " It's hilarious 😂 to read . Maybe consider for a future adaptation if you like ?
I have seen a lot of remakes in movies a Long John Silver and this is by far the best and it is the original as far as I can tell. The characters, dialogue and accidents have all been used time and again since 1954. Including Pirates of the Caribbean. But this is the best version
If you imagine, in 1933 or so, C.S. Lewis and the other Inklings could have heard your version of The Hobbit! After JRR read the original in their pub "The Bird and Baby".
Your voice and reading is perfect. The constant repeating background music is unnecessary. It has nothing to do with the action or story and just becomes distracting and annoying at times taking me out of the reading. Defeating the purpose of a sleep story.
@@dougyplex sorry you feel that way 😣 the music has been lowered in later chapters of the series so hopefully it gets less distracting. It is good to kind of glue the whole thing together and hide some of the imperfections of the audio. Thank you for listening 🙏
We gave you Shakespeare, Tolkien and Warhammer and you repay us by slinging our tea in the river, that shameful little rebellion back in 1776 and this performance?!
