These are the kinds of reviews I really love, where at the end you can just hear the joy in Nicks voice talking about the piece. Gear should bring us joy and it's always cool to hear when that happens to my favorite reviewer.

I met Mr. Herman on one blade exhibition in Czech Republic (Poland and Czech republic share borders) and he is genuinely a nice guy and his knives are great. The action was incredible on all of the knives that I handled on his table. He also had some pieces with K390 sandwiched blades, so IMO everybody can get a knife from him, that suites his need, no matter if you like simple stuff, dressy knives or high performance. The prices are still lower that most CNC custom knives like Grimsmo, Holt or Brown, so that is also great.

Thanks for the _shoutout_ - I hadn't caught that when you gave me a preview back when. But I do wish women flocked to me after a mention from you like I was a Skaha!
Really happy you like it in spite of its quirks, but I like a little character. CNC can get sterile without an artist to give it soul.

@chris brooks - indeed. Everything’s starting to look alike. Arius, holt, Shiros, neutron, etc. (& unobtainable Rask). Why drop another $500 on an indistinguishable blade? Ti scales, M390, flippers on bearings. This looks like a Neon Zero off its diet. I’ve come to love all CRKsand my couple Rocksteads. Strikes me as a bunch of Chinese parts. And screws directly into Ti scales doesn’t sound wise.

I now have 3 of the Herman Slim knives (4" bladed big brother to the Sting), and I can see that they are improving with each knife. One I have was unsatisfactory, was sent back to Herman, and returned in perfect operating condition. They are slim, smooth, terrific thin blade and great design. The first one I got came in a plastic box that was then just covered in a ball of bubble wrap - shipping label stuck to the outside! My most recent one came in a proper shipping box, which contained the plastic box. They are listening and learning! Still a pain to disassemble, but worth it to me. Great review! I don't disagree with any of it.

Found out about 2 weeks ago that my daughter bought me a Herman Ishtar 3 venom for Christmas this year. I seriously can't believe she spent what she did on the Herman ( hell I won't even spend that much on a knife, rather have a new firearm for the price) but yet at the same time I'm excited as hell to get my hands on it. the Ishtar will be my most expensive knife to date and will arguably be the most expensive in my collection ever but being that my daughter bought it for me it will be by far my favorite knife I ever own.

OK..if u sign up on PCK....Bartosz's knives become available regularly..every few weeks...The Stings go first...in 30mins to one day...and those are gone...but with a little patience are very obtainable! I finally got notification when I had money and the Sting was in a style I liked. OK...Out of the box (literally 🙃), mine was impressive! After tearing it down (I love proprietary hardware, WE star screws ROCK!), cleaning & lubing, adjusting the détent and pocket clip to "stiffer", reassembling, and adjusting the pivot...
...just color me WOW! 👍🏼😎 ....OH WOWIE!!!! Worth every penny! Thanks Nick!

Watched the charming disassembly vid and was curious. It is aesthetically and materially on par with recent expensive Spyderco knives. It's a custom knife from an overseas designer/manufacturer, so there's nothing overly shocking about the price. When bearings were flying around was disheartening. That handle work is sweet, as well as the blade shape. The action, craftsmanship, and materials certainly put it in the mix if you want something different and uncommon. Good review.

I’ve carried and used a CRKT/Ruger Hollow Point for a couple of years and it is still perfectly centered with no blade play and drops shut smoothly. And I was just wondering what would cause a blade to come uncentered, because I’m shocked that this cheap blade is as good as it is.

The pocket pecker(?) is the only real downside. Most folks who get that knife aren't going to be taking it apart, so the shortcomings from the disassembly standpoint aren't relevant to 95% of targeted buyers. The proprietary pivot is a beautiful design element. This knife is a masterpiece of design from the visual standpoint.

Not a fan of the pattern on the scales. Special tool needed for the pivot. Sharpening choil is barely there. I'm not a fan of screws going all the way through either. It just doesn't look good imo. This is really subjective but the name HERMAN I am not a fan of. Definitely don't want it printed on the blade. Pocket pecking and disassemblely issues too? Meh...
