Sounds good in an 80's sort of way. Synthwave people will love it. A little too small for me personally and I don't use that kind of sound so much but a lot of people will like it.
I echo what joecandy said below. For many, Behringer bring exciting products at more realistic prices. At times when most other manufacturers are happy to keep hiking prices and build hardware that's just getting further out of reach to most ppl. No wonder Behringer are going from strength to strength.
A small company can't build synths in mass for lowering the average price, unlike behringer. There are fixed costs like research, and if you have 100 k € of research but you can only build 100 synth, you have a fixed cost of 1000 € per synth, even if i is the most garbage synth of the universe ( this is why very small companies can do only high quality synths, because they will have a high cost in any case ), and you have all the cost on the components, materials, etc... there again a great company like behringer is advantaged by its size, by allowing big batch of items, with lower cost than a company making some crafted synth with only 100 synths. Industrialization is a big factor against hand crafted high quality synths , again it reduces the cost per synth. This is why for the 8 voices smith synth, 20 000 € wad the good price, because it was produced hand crafted at very limited number of synths, with a lot of reasearch for an innovative polysynth of high quality. without taking in count the most polemic sides of behringer, it is easy to understand why behringer can sell synths at lower cost than many synth companies who have a smaller size..

This is it. This is what I want. I don't need synths to be huge - I just need to be able to tweak knobs in a way that VSTs just don't let me. That's it. Sounds pretty good too.
@@femto859 I prefer using smaller midi controllers with a limited number of knobs. Some synths also have features I wouldn't touch or know how to approach. This synth is a good example. I would not be bothered to click on the joystick thing, and not all midi controllers come with one or something equivalent to map it to. For me, working with a hardware synth where I can get lost and just program patches for a few hours and then use them with either a built-in or midi keyboard has always been more engaging as a workflow. I've just tried and tried and tried to use VST synths with and without a midi controller, and I always end up either making super basic patches or tweaking presets. Any instruments outside of a drum machine I'd rather mess with on my own. Personal preference, but I imagine there's other people like that out there.
I can't help but notice the joystick wasn't used at all. And it's a primary feature of the VS. I gotta ask why not? That's extremely important. Far more so than the knobs the person was twiddling. Upon announcement of this I immediately got on the waiting list at Sweetwater.
Haven't been this excited since the Crave was released! This incorporates the popular wavetable and stacked waveform sounds of much much more expensive synths into an affordable package! Definitely a professional production tool!
