- Opel Corsa 2019/2020 can be equipped with IntelliLux LED matrix light technology. The matrix headlights switch automatically to high beam. The eight
LED (four per each lamp) elements are controlled by a newest-generation, high-resolution front camera and continuously adapt the light beam to the traffic and the surroundings. Preceding or oncoming vehicles are simply cut out of the light pattern, preventing glare, creating additional time to avoid potential collisions
with objects or animals. This is real-life test of adaptive IntelliLux LED matrix light in Opel Corsa 2019/2020.

This is great footage. You did really well. I wish I had a car with intelligent adaptive LED lights, but I have to make do with my standard high and low beam halogen lights. The main beam lights are really bright and give excellent visibility, but the low beam lights aren't great, even after I installed bulbs that are 50% brighter than standard bulbs.
Thank you! :) You are right, adaptive lights are really important for safety and comfort. I would choose a car with adaptive lights rather than stronger engine or sth. like that.
1001cars agreed. My low beam is almost dangerous. When I have to dip my lights I can’t see much ahead at all and have to just keep the car between the lines I can see. Keep up the great videos 👍
When I bought my corsa, the seller did not try to sell it, he presented this feature as precaution for other current drivers. But it is way more, you see everything in front. I would have ordered this if I knew
Even with just 4 elements per side, it's working really well. I can tell from own expierience.

We have that system in our Astra and it's great. I love it. :-) I never want to have halogen bulbs in any cars.
On the Astra does it dim the lights for the traffic signs as well or only for oncoming traffic? I am looking to get the K with Matrix. Thanks.

Seriously, why these lights should be bad in "cheap" cars?
In this video, the segments are finally sharp and clear, however it cuts off too high, practically where the low beam ends, but the low beam is much darker.
My Astra has much fuzzy high beam, which starts to illuminate the road much lower, in exchange it does not light up high enough. Worse problem is that the computer sensed something, so my right lamp has been changed. The segment in it are light higher than the left lamp, so it is now asymmetric, and I don't see any way to correct this...
Will the Peugeot 208 have these as well? After all they share the same platform
As far as I know, NOT. I couldn't find any information about it. The same platform doesn't mean the same features, especially when we talk about adaptive lighting system (special lamps, camera and computer system).
1001cars i know but since the 208 is supposed to be more high tech or at least I thought so because of that 3D instrument cluster and is also more expensive than the corsa
@@ronin5420 Yes, you are right. Some features Peugeot 208 has more advanced, like you said: 3D cockpit. It can be difficult to understand why they did sth. like that.
@@ronin5420 They try to profile the cars differently, 208 should be primarily luxurious, but not technical advanced or functional.
208 should LOOK... like it's advanced, but it's mostly entertainment...
Interior lighting, fine plastic, colorful instruments and so on...
Corsa should be the one who actually has technology which has a practical function, not just the headlights but the Corsa GS also has extra front strut reinforcement which the 208 GT line lacks, the same with the interior that works in practice... but does not shine of luxury as 208.
As an example, in the most expensive headlights on 208 the turn signal is impractical and poorly visible, but apparently perceived by Peugeot as luxurious, while Corsas are completely superior in function and visibility.
Corsa is also alone in offering fog lights, not even DS have it.
They claim it is not needed, but it's stupidity.
But it also has to do with that headlight is Opel's equivalent to the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit and Citroens suspension, something, Opel must get permission to retain as their own to justify their existence.
It's been 20 years since Opel first showed the first advanced self-adjusting headlights on Omega V8.com.

DS 3 Crossback should be luxurious AND have technology, but be less functional than Opel, it has similar headlights, but is then much more expensive.

Insignia has different, much more precise IntelliLux LED system
That rectangular bit of light on the right was really annoying. It was too bright, too square with sharp edges and they didn;t bother to make it flush with low beam which made everything look unnatural. At the same time the gap between cars and light on the right side is just too big.
Also while light on the sides was too bright, front section seemed pretty dim providing pretty mediocre range. Unfortunately they're cheap and it shows, I wouldn't bother, especially in a city car like this.
You have to compare these Matrix headlights with normal headlights which is the alternative, not with a technology that is twice as expensive and in larger cars.
That rectangular bit of light on the right is the best... because it shines bright at the most dangerous point... if something comes quickly into the road there, an accident is impossible to avoid.
Very important function.
The light on the sides shall be bright, that's the whole point of the technology.
The technology is simple to keep the price down so that more people can afford to choose it in a car like this, and the function is therefore not so perfect as i Astra and Insignia - BUT, it works... and it does the job...
It looks strange when you've never seen it before, but you quickly learn how to understand how it works.
A small car has a great need to avoid accidents, these headlights dramatically reduces the risk of accidents, and should be chosen if one has the opportunity.
How could you recognize "pretty dim" front section? It is impossible to grade it based on the movie
There are a few moments while cornering when you could see the light illuminating objects in front of the car. That part of the beam should be the brightest, sides should be dimmer. That's not the case here. I'd stock to the regular LEDs in new Corsa, hopefully low beam is the same but with much more uniform high beam.
@@sic22l I disagree with you, if they do not use that in this way of that the rectangular bit of light, having it is not bright that the rectangular in the bends or the sinious roads for instance, a deer, a cat, a bat or being the most dangerously a sizeable boulder, debris and detritus not easily to be perceived. That is just highly probability in anywhere else or in Poland having still a useful for a eschewing and, being a bright which is life-saving for many drivers. As for my only criticism, the traffic signs ought not to be dazzling ought not it? while it using the LED beams. Speaking of a believability, nevertheless, in the most mundane night driving it is a more to justifiable. Right?

I never said there should be no light there. I just said it's too bright compared to the rest of the beam and too bright compared to low beam in that area. It's not only discracting, it also makes driver's eyes accomodate to that brighter area and reduce visibility in darker areas (similar to the camera pointed at a bright object).
