    We love the Ferris wheel, Beautiful job. We made the Halloween version. It was a big project for us. Ours whines too. We also use the riders for pathway markers. I thought we would re -purpose the patterns. I would suggest you cover it to the best of your ability. Ours was built in 2013'. And it does decay if not sheltered from the elements. Nice job !

      I keep mine in my barn, so it doesn't see sun or rain for the year, it mostly gets snow or freezing rain when I put it out for my show. Oh I also sprayed it with water sealer.

    Great job. I will be taking this on as a project for the coming year. Can you advise on 3 things? (1) In your estimation is a wiper motor using a 12v 5A power supply sufficient for powering your wheel? (2) What gearing do you suggest for marrying up the motor to the shaft, a chain / sprocket assembly or pulley / fan belt? and (3) What means did you use to attach the slip ring to the shaft? Thanks! Chris

    • @jeffreylewis6733
      @jeffreylewis6733  2 роки тому +1

      1 Wiper Motor is more than enough, 2 depends on the rpm of the motor, I would go with a belt drive system and use a thin v belt, and also get a DC motor controller. There not to much for them. 3 I wrap electrical tape around the slip ring till it is snug in the pipe
