Imagine 2 idol from different groups fangirl to each other. They attend each other handshake event, just line up with other normal fans, wearing sunglasses and hat trying to blend in. There's probably a manga/anime about this
Not totally your setting, but "Oshi ga Budoukan Ittekuretara Shinu" comes close and gives a short look into Indy-Idol culture. I've also seen several girls of big Idol groups talking about actually going to other groups HS Events.
Kiara fangirling away - while she sits at over 5 times the twitter followers compared to her oshi. I know it's not a really meaningful number but it's always nice to see how humble and down to earth Kiara still is after over a year of huge public success.
Guy in chat asked "wouldn't all idols train for that?" and that's a fair question, but if we look at AKB48 one of their biggest appeals to the wota crowd was that fresh, young, and inexperienced girls who admired idols singing and dancing on stage would be thrown into it with minimal practice so that you could follow along with their growth and cheer them on as they gave it their all. It's that kind of fantasy. With HaroPro that Kiara's a fan of, I've seen they tend to dance more seriously to electronic music, so it shouldn't be all that different from how they do things in Korea if we blur out some of the specifics (and, you know, change the flavor). That is to say, the performance-oriented groups will work really hard to show off their hard earned technical prowess, while other groups that focus more on fan interactions or playing up their inherent charms will do that whether or not they're especially good on stage from a mastery standpoint. Anyway, as an idol fan I love hearing the girls talk about idols and groups they like, whether it's Kanatan or Kiara (or Pomu). Appreciate your themed compilations as always!
I'm super glad that Kiara got noticed by her Oshi 🧡 Thank you for compiling this! I'm lucky to be there live, having this in one single compilation is great to see! Dankeschön kowkarot
I think the fact that kiara has been a part of the idol fandom and idol culture for such a long time puts her in a really good position to be able to manage her community here in hololive. Kfp is a very friendly and respectful business and she’s the reason why.
In her debut I do vividly remember her talking about her idol interest and I thought to myself, "yes one of us!", so it's nice seeing her get some recognition. Maybe it's not the same but I do get a bit happy if a tweet or video comment gets liked by Kiara or other content creators I admire.
Well, I most likely get how Kiara feels. Even just having your comment red by one of your favorite idols puts a smile on your face. Imagine them recognizing you at an after-concert event. As long as I know, there are "after-concert event" or just the event itself. The after-concert is the one that happens after a concert, obviously. The other one is just the event itself where it happens on the scheduled time. I think it's called a "fan-signing" event thing, where you can have their autographs, do handshakes, or even play with them. So yeah, I'm happy for her.
This is like a mini documentary of JP idol culture. Also, I know it's been said so often in other comments, but you absolute legend for compiling tangents of Tenchou

Oh Maro of ZOC? I remember there was quite the verbal abuse scandal there last year, where Maro was on the receiving end from the groups songwriter. There were recordings leaked and stuff. Hope Tenchou didn't notice those, was pretty tough to listen to. It was later claimed to be a one time incident and everthing got sorted out, but one can have their doubts about that. Especially since it wasn't some official recording of a meeting, but Maro recording herself, probably in secret.
Oh someone knowlegeable on zoc, missed out on maro dating Wack's CEO news ? Was one of zoc early fans, but ever since one of the member got kicked out, im just done with them.
@@kurobane2844 I wouldn't say knowlegeable, I basically only know about that abuse issue and not much else. Too many groups out there to notice them all.
its actually funny to me that she didnt know that idol culture already a thing in japan long before hello project morning musume, since 1962 to be exact, what morning musume and then later akb48 start is the idol warring period, when the number of idol group and the competition among idol groups is increasing in japan
"They are trained so well!"...That shit just doesn't come across as Kiara probably means it. That's aside from the actual physical training. It's "social training" as well. I'm kinda disappointed in hearing her praise this fucking idol culture that keeps fucking with things she wants to do, and even before her kept fucking things up. I know she was talking about her admiration of the talents and all, but you can't just ignore the horrible subtext of it all. Yes, these girls are amazing in what they can do, but for that they are constantly pushed to their limits, physically and mentally. I think they could do that without the pressure of stalkers and demanding management.
I feel like this is a sentiment for all forms of entertainment unfortunately. For instance I'm not into idols for that reason but I love anime and we all know the problems that industry have yet people like mostly look at the good side of it or overly exaggerate the problems to make it come of as comedic or cope mechanism. I don't wanna be that guy whose like "That how the world works" but idk man just sucks.
Outside the big Superstars, everyone in Entertainment has to fight and claw to stay afloat in the Business. It's a very demanding field to go into and for most people it's not even paid that well. There's reasons that people who had one hit still Tour TV-Shows 30 years later, singing exactly that one hit, if they get to sing at all. Same with Comedians, actually japanese Comedians often are "one hit wonders" as well. They have one Gag they are known for and do it for decades, people likely enjoying them not because it's funny, but for familiarity. Idol culture has its issues, but sometimes I feel like people forget that "normal" Entertaiment has most of those issues as well.
Kiara knows very well the good and the bad of idol culture. She was not only a fan, but an idol herself after all. Not only that, being an idol was her dream. She is immersed in this culture and to be quite honest, Hololive is too. The thing is, not only idol culture, every media and entertainment has its problems, thats not something anyone has control over, the only thing you can do is take precautions and try to manage things as they come, but they will inevitably come. Sometimes management or talents won't have the best solution to something, sometimes they will, I think its important to keep it in mind, but its also important to not let the bad outweight the good. Why shouldn't she admire her osshi's training when it speaks volumes about her posture and relationship to her community? There is a reason she loves this to the point of it being her dream and she focus on that, thats fine. No one need to add an "but" every time they talk about idol culture. Last, but not least, its not like Kiara hasn't addressed bad things too, if you look it up, she once had a very down to earth discussion about the process of graduation and its repercussions for the talent.
