This piece is entitled Remembrance by Sergio Assad, taken from the Summer Garden Suite, which was used as the soundtrack for the Japanese film 'Summer Garden' (夏の庭) / The Friends. I hope everyone is coping well as the Singapore government implements the recent 'circuit breaker' measures, including all students and staff who are transitioning onto fully home-based learning. In addition. today is 清明节 (Qingming Festival or Memorial Day). Let's all take a moment to remember those dear to us who have passed on, including those who have unfortunately passed recently due to the coronavirus. My extended family and I normally take the opportunity to pay our respects to our elders on this day, but due to the recent 'circuit breaker' measures, we are unable to do so. This video was inspired by the wonderful performances of Italians singing on their balconies whilst in quarantine. I hope this video may also serve as a way of cherishing those memories with loved ones who are no longer with us. Thanks so much for listening! Stay home and stay safe!
