    As someone that used to do actual microneedling, the VT reedle shots are a God send! I don't need to prep, sanitize & all the other xtra steps. Now that I'm older, I love the idea of the skincare products, actually absorbing deeper into the skin (that gives me joy, haha). I get compliments on my glowy skin all the time! I use 100 2-3 x's a week & 300 once a week, if I remember. I've used retinol serums after applying reedle shot without any irritation.

    Using the Reedle 100 for about a week now, loving it so far! Also I don't feel the "needles" at all. Sometimes there is this tickling sensation, but I barely notice it. I do have extremely sensitive skin, so I expected the feeling of "needles" to be more prominent but I guess I am lucky! I did notice some purging after day 4-ish. Already fading away though. Skin is less red, texture is improving already and impurities (prior to use) are dissapearing quickly. Buttt it's only my first week, so let's see what it will do long term :)
    Also: do NOT use this product in a morning routine. It is an active product and your skin needs to 'recover'. So you don't want any influence from the sun, weather, cargasses, makeup, etc. Only use in your evening routine!

    I’ve been using this 3 times now. I used 300 which is twice a week and honestly it made my skin clear and radiant. My big pores in my cheeks near my nose have become smaller. I’ve used a lot of products for the past 10 years and for the first time I found my “holy grail”.

  • @jennismith2
    @jennismith2 9 місяців тому +32

    I really like the VT Reedle shot.i have sensitive skin and am prone to redness. I’ve used the 300 for a week now, and the next morning after the first use I noticed my skin was baby soft, much smoother, and was a bit less red-toned, and two days later my skin was still soft and looked good. I didn’t find it uncomfortable at all…just a bit tingly.
    I used the VT shot along with my usual skin 1004 products. I’m no stranger to the benefits of centella. I do think that the VT product is a great exfoliation product and it does seem to help product penetration.
    I’m very happy with the product and will continue to use it. Like any skin product, it’s probably possible to “overdo it”. So follow the instructions and don’t use it more frequently than recommended. Also, your results will probably vary depending on what you use with it. I’ve had a lot of luck with using it alongside calming products. But I’m not using it on days that I use Tretinoin…at least not yet! My recommendation is to go slow and add products slowly so you can figure out what works for you

    Its only supposed to be used once a day, at night only and the company even says to use extra moisturizing when using it. Its recommended to gently pat this into the skin rather than robust rubbing as this can, in some instances increase the irritation some people experience. They also say not to use devices like LED masks at the same time so use the LED mask in the morning instead of at night. Hope this is helpful.

    • @CrackerDip
      @CrackerDip 9 місяців тому +2

      @@lavenderpurp6610 I would patch try it first, cause this really depends on the type of pimple, age of pimple and your skin. Try it on a small part of your skin (where there is a pimple). If you notice it is worsening your acne or pimples, i would suggest not using it. With every product though, you wanna give it a good two weeks to see if it works or not. Unless immediately, overnight or in two days you notice irritation, an allergic reaction or (unnormal) breakouts!

    I have the 700 of this and I personally notice how it improves the look of my pores and textures, I use it to deposit skincare ingredients in my skin, it's great to use with face masks. I use it only once a week, and it works for me. I agree that it feels uncomfortable, I can still feel the reedle for up to 48 hours upon application, so I use it every Friday night.

    Finally, a non-sponsored review of this product! 🎇
    Thank you so much for taking the time to really put this to the test. As regular treatments from a doctor or esthetician are absolutely not an option for me financially, I really would love an affordable alternative to microneedling that can be done at home without the horrific risks of those dangerous dermarollers... but this product seemed too good to be true. The lack of non-payed-for reviews has kept me from trying it so far, and I will probably keep skipping it. Really wouldn't want to skip the actually scientifically proven stuff (retinal, vitamin C etc.) to make room for this one.
    Also, is it just me, or is the idea of using a sort-of-microneedling product every day kind of strange? I don't think that's the average treatment schedule🤨

    Wonderful in depth review- as always! Thats what we come here for!! I tried it out on and off during the same time periods you did because of all the hype, and my results were mixed. I think it can really help if your skin is in a great place with your barrier integrity and inflammation, but if you have any skin barrier defect it will backfire. I noticed amazing next day results but also experienced breakouts like you did! I also agree 100% that it is an uncomfortable sensation, especially with layering other products, so much so that i dont reach for it. My personal take is that a majority of people in korea (where the hype originated) are not on strong retinoids, if a retinoid at all, not to mention other actives. This product alone may produce amazing effects. I just think that the "controlled damage" the product is intended to produce is too much for those with sensitive skin and barrier issues.

      I don’t see any long term benefits to using this. Micro needling in dermatology has a damaging impact on the skin that long term use will cause more redness, irritation and a permanent damaging of the skin barrier. Why would anyone use something that causes damage to push healing products in further. You should not to listen to the hype, you should always look into scientific research and studies with a large amount of testers with different skin types and ages, before deciding on using something that actually wounds the skin to make it look better faster.

    maybe because you used it in the morning and likely applied makeup on top of it, it sunk into the skin and clogged your pores and caused breakouts. i think this is mostly meant to be used once a day in the evening but probably for the people that are not using very intense actives like tretinoin especially since in asian skincare such products arent often used so it's not a concern for people making the skincare products. however, if you use tretinoin like 3-4 times a week, maybe using the 300 version of this on the nights when you dont use tretinoin could be a good alternative to this. if your skin can handle it of course since maybe the breakouts were due to irritation from your skin being to sensitive to handle the product or maybe it was the fact that it was applied in the morning possibly in conjunction with makeup. would be interested to know if you would get the same results with using the 300 on the nights when u dont use tretinoin

    I haven't tried it, but how are "reedles" different than microtears from other sharp physical exfoliants, like walnut shells, which we were educated to avoid? We've even been instructed by dermatologists to avoid the roller microneedles and to only use the microneedle pens because of the rolling needles pierce at an angle, causing tearing and damage. I will probably wait for several years of honest reviews before I try this one.

      @itz I never quit using mechanical exfoliation. I'm still using a silicone facial brush, and I noticed an improvement in my acne with equally effective exfoliation compared to my old knock-off clarisonic bristle brush. So much of skin care is trial and error. Keep looking and trying different products one at a time, keeping the products that work in your routine. Everyone's skin is different, but game changers for my inflammatory acne have been oral spearmint supplements/tea for hormonal cysts/nodules on the chin/jaw (not sure if recommended for males due to hormone blocking effects) and toners/essences/serums with tea tree, artemisia, snail mucin, propolis/honey. Oh yeah, and salicylic acid for comedones. Good luck with your journey!

    I just bought the 100, and idk what I think of it yet. I used a sample of it a few weeks ago before I bought it, and used it at night like everyone is suggesting. I still got the same experience you had, with the uncomfortable prickling that kept happening with every product I applied after it. (sometimes my face gets a little itchy too, and when I'd gently rub my skin to get it to go away, still felt the pin prickling, aswell as when I went to bed that night. I went to bed 3 hours after applying it too.) I'm hoping if I continue to use it I'll get more used to it, because I've watched other reviews who said the prickling got better with time, but we'll see

However, it's not very pleasant to use, and I have to be careful to use it only on my face because it gave me rashes when I applied it around my décolletage. Still not sure if I will repurchase yet, will decide after I finish my bottle.

      @@KellyDriscollKelly, I love your videos and I really appreciate your insight and thorough reviews so please don't take this in a negative way. But I have to disagree, this isn't a simple essence product, that is the point of it all. It's supposed to be a gentler alternative to microneedling. So it should definitely be treated like a retinoid or other potentially irritating actives/treatments.

    Hi Kelly I’m often disappointed and disinterested in really hyped products 😂. I have incredibly reactive sensitive skin with rosacea and eczema. My barrier is permanently impaired and I loathe the thought of micro needling or “reedles” making my skin have tears/wounds tbh- hence never having even considered trying this. I think if you have tough resilient skin then it may help with penetration of other products and not be too overly damaging, but my delicate reactive skin is not who this is aimed at. Best wishes x

    Spicules are silica-based and sharp, so you're putting microscopic glass bits in your skin. You can't break them down and it's unknown if you'll actually slough them off - for all we know, they embed in the skin and cause granulomas.
    All that to say, this sounds risky.

    • @Vironica___VVV

      Spicule treatments are actually been around South Korea skin care for years and no one have irritation. People I know who did this treatment are still much alive with better skin.😂 This treatment have become more accessible with this product. They stay on your skin for 72hrs before it naturally shed away.

      The reedle doesn't remove dead skin cells like exfoliation does, some people have a misconception about this but they aren't resurfacing the skin. You'll likely still want to use your exfoliants, especially if you're using them for acne.

    I had the exact same experience - took it with me on a vacation and used it in my NTR instead of my Lactic Acid serum... after 3 days I thought "Wow, skin is smoother" but at the end of the vacation after 7 days I broke out; little bumps all over my face... I stopped using it and after 2 weeks my skin was better. The feeling didn't bother me, I found it a little bit funny in a strange way, but I will not use it again. I have dry, acne-prone skin and I am not willing to make my skin worse than it can be. Thank you for this review ❤

      I saw Dr Drays response as well. I appreciate the fact that I think she’s the only dermatological physician who has bothered to reply so far. She indicated, if memory serves me right, that she felt there were no serious or valid studies done yet about spicule (reedel) technology. This isn’t exactly true. However, she did use what I felt were some scare tactics about spicules and long term negative side effects. Whereas she was critical about the fact that she felt insufficient clinical trials about this product had occurred, she wasted no time in theorizing that spicules could cause (I think she said granulomas under the skin which may be difficult to treat. Well my question for her would be ? Where are the studies about granulomas caused by spicules? I don’t know, because she didn’t cite any study. And I know she’s a physician, and she probably has the right to speculate. But my feeling is that she did what felt like very little investigation before she made this claim…

    Sounds like you started way too fast on the product, and should have had a longer period of introducing the Reedle. Sounds rough on your skin barrier, specially twice a day combined with tret from day one.
    Try once-twice a week at night the first weeks, and give the skin a break from actives like tret and acids. Then slowly build up to daily use and implement your actives back in.
    Hope you would try again, but a less rushed :)

    Hi Kelly, i noticed in your video when you were applying the reedle serum, you really RUB it in using some pressure. This is probably why you’re feeling very uncomfortable. It’s recommended to apply the essence gently and let it absorb. Same thing with layering on your other skincare products. Also, it sounds like you have sensitive skin. There’s a Reedle 50 strength that’s recommended if you have sensitive skin. Also, the 50 is the only one to use in the morning. The last thing I want to say is beautiful healthy skin rely on multiple factors. Not only on effective skin care but also diet, gut health, regular exercises, managing stress, etc. I didn’t get paid to say all this. I’m extremely knowledgeable about skin care, health, wellness, etc. I wanted to keep things fair and balance for other viewers who may rely on you tubers to use a product.
